In this Card Player weekly feature we look to provide our readers with a guide to some of the biggest poker events taking place in their area for the upcoming week. CALIFORNIA
- The CPPT II Big Poker Oktober (Sep 21, ‘14 – Oct 15, ’14) The Bicycle Casino in Bell Gardens, California is moving into the exciting conclusion of it’s huge Card Player Poker Tour series this week. The centerpiece of the whole affair is of course the $1,100 no-limit hold’em main event, featuring the Bike’s own Quantum Reload format. The tournament begins on Oct. 11th and concludes Oct. 15th with the crowning of yet another CPPT champion at the live-streamed final table which will feature hole-cards and commentary and can be found right here on CardPlayer.com and on Live At The Bike, the casino’s popular cash game and tournament show.
INTERNATIONAL
- The 2014 World Series of Poker Asia Pacific (Oct 02, ‘14 – Oct 18, ’14) The second-ever running of the World Series of Poker Asia Pacific kicked off last week at the Crown Casino in Melbourne, Australia. In just over two weeks down under there will be 10 WSOP gold bracelets awarded, double the amount that were handed out in the festival’s first incarnation. This week will see the $10,000 AUD no-limit hold’em main event kick on Oct 12th with the first of two starting days beginning at 12:30 PM local time. Play will continue until a champion is decided on Oct. 18th.
- The 2014 EPT / UKIPT London (Oct 08, ‘14 – Oct 18, ’14) The European Poker Tour and United Kingdom and Ireland Poker Tour are combining forces this week in London, England for a 33-event tournament series that will run from Oct. 8th – the 18th at the Grand Connaught Rooms. This week will see the UKIPT £770 no-limit hold’em main event begin with two starting days beginning at noon on the 8th and 9th. The £4,250 EPT London no-limit hold’em main event kicks off with the first two starting days at noon On Oct. 12th. The next EPT champ will be decide at the final table on Oct. 18th.
NEVADA
- The 2014 PHamous Poker Series VI (Oct 09, ’14 – Oct 12, ’14) The Planet Hollywood Las Vegas is set to kick off the 2014 PHamous Poker Series VI starting on October 9th and running through the 12th. The three-event series features guaranteed prize pools for every tournament, with the centerpiece of the whole affair being the $500,000 guaranteed $565 buy-in no-limit hold’em event that begins with the first of three starting days at noon local time on Oct. 9th.
- The 2014 World Poker Challenge 100K Guarantee Series (Oct 09, ‘14 – Oct 12, ’14) The Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno, Nevada is hosting a seven-event tournament series this week with over $100,000 in guaranteed prize money. The main attraction is the $40,000 guaranteed $340 buy-in no-limit hold’em event that features two starting flights, at noon and 5:00 PM local time on Oct. 11th.
NORTHEAST
- The 2014 Parx Big Stax VIII (Sep 30, ’14 – Oct 20, ’14) The eighth running of the Parx Big Stax series kicked off last week, but some of the biggest events of the series are still upcoming. The $550 buy-in event this week features three starting days, each beginning at 11:00 AM local time on Oct. 9-11. The event features a $300,000 prize pool.
- The 2014 World Poker Finals (Oct 04, ‘14 – Oct 20, ’14) The Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, CT kicked off their 2014 World Poker Finals tournament series last week, and is set to host plenty of exciting action in the days to come. The highlight of this week is a $1,650 buy-in no-limit hold’em event with a $150,000 guaranteed prize pool. It gets underway at noon local time on Oct. 11th.
FLORIDA
- The 2014 HPT Daytona Beach Kennel (Oct 02, ‘14 – Oct 13, ’14) The Daytona Beach Kennel Club & Poker Room is the next stop on the Heartland Poker Tour, with a six-event series built around the $1,670 no-limit hold’em main event which begins with the first of three starting flights at 3:00 PM on Oct. 10th.
- The 2014 Isle Open (Oct 08, ’14 – Oct 28, ’14) The Isle Casino in Pompano Beach, Florida begins this week, with the early highlight being the $350 buy-in kickoff event which features a $250,000 guaranteed prize pool. The tournament has eight starting flights, with 11:00 AM and 7:00 PM start times on Oct. 8 – 11. Survivors from those flights will combine on Oct. 12 to play down to a champion.
MIDWEST
- The 2014 WSOP Circuit Horseshoe Southern Indiana (Oct 02, ‘14 – Oct 13, ’14) The Horseshoe Southern Indiana in Elizabeth, IN is the latest stop on thw 2014/2015 World Series of Poker Circuit. This week will see the $1,675 buy-in no-limit hold’em main event kick off, with the first of two starting days beginning at noon local time on Oct. 10th.
