Major League Baseball Daily Fantasy Sports Tips For FridayHere's Who You Should Be Targeting In Your MLB DFS Lineups Friday |

Friday Matchups
After a week off, I’m back to look at pitching matchups for Friday. As always, we’ll be looking at a few pitchers to target and a few pitchers to pick on for your MLB DFS lineups.
Pitchers to Target
Clayton Kershaw, Dodgers @ Padres – It seems as though every time I write this column, Kershaw is on the mound for the night in question. As he is just about every time he takes the hill, Kershaw should be and likely will be the most popular choice for MLB DFS players. Facing a strikeout prone Padres team in the pitcher friendly Petco Park is an added bonus. To top it off, the Dodgers will face Odrisamer Despaigne, which should boost the chances Kershaw gets the win.
Felix Hernandez, Mariners @ Astros – If Kershaw is option 1A, we can safely call King Felix option 1B on Friday. Pitching in Minute Maid Park can be a volatile situation for most pitchers, but the strikeout potential here is so immense that I think Felix makes for a great option. The right-handed heavy Astros strikeout at the second highest clip in the majors when facing right handed pitching. And Felix is one of the best right-handed pitchers of this generation.
Michael Pineda, Yankees @ Orioles – Generally, my recommendations stem from the research I do and I will recommend pitchers that seem like the very best bets to me on a given night. Well this one is a little different, as this isn’t a situation where I would be using Pineda in my cash games. I don’t think he’s super safe here. However, he’s made two starts against the Orioles this year and those two starts have resulted in 25 strikeouts in 13 1/3 innings. 25! So if you’re looking for a tourney pitcher for Friday, look no further.
Pitchers to Pick On
Kevin Correia, Phillies @ Pirates – Kevin Correia is not a very good major league pitcher. He also was out of a job until recently when the sad sack Phillies signed him and will run him out for his first start of the year Friday. All signs point to the Pirates feasting here and I’ll be looking to have them in my lineups.
Tommy Milone, Twins @ Rangers – I generally think that the Rangers don’t have a lineup that matches up very well with left handed pitching. They have a lot of lefties of their own and not a lot of options to pivot to right handed bats when they face a lefty. However, Milone is not your typical lefty, as he statistically performs about the same against left and right-handed batters. For that reason, I think the Rangers will have a good bit of value on Friday night.
John Danks, White Sox @ Rays – Very rarely do I like to use hitters playing in parks that are very good for pitching. Well with the Pirates and Rays, Friday night could be an exception to that rule. Danks is dying against righty bats, as they’re sporting over a .950 OPS and averaging just shy of 2 home runs per 9 innings against him this year. With Evan Longoria, Joey Butler, Logan Forsythe and Steven Souza, the Rays can roll out a righty heavy lineup that should give Danks fits.
