2018 CPPT Live! Casino & Hotel: Winners of Events 15-16

The inaugural Card Player Poker Tour Live! Casino & Hotel kicked off on January 4, 2018 at what has been voted Maryland’s Best Casino five years running by Casino Player Magazine. The 16-event poker series ran from Jan. 4-14. The centerpiece of the whole schedule was the three-day $1,100 buy-in CPPT no-limit hold’em main event, that featured a $200,000 guarantee that was easily surpassed when the tournament attracted a total of 307 total entries to build a final prize pool of $307,000. Eric Ladny came away with the title and the top prize of $54,022 in the end, becoming the first CPPT champion of 2018.

Earlier in the week Card Player brought you a couple of recaps of the preliminary tournaments, first covering events 1-5, and then events 6-9,- and finally events 10-13.

After registration was closed in the main event, there were still two tournaments available for players to take one last shot at a title. The fifteenth tournament of the series was the $500 buy-in no-limit hold’em ‘Double Black Chip’ bounty event. A total of 46 entries were made, building a prize pool of $11,914 in addition to the $200 bounty that was on each player’s head. In the end the final bounty was collected by Brian Frasca, who earned a $4,647 payday. Frasca was fresh off of a 36th-place finish in the main event, and had also finished second in event 4 earlier in the week.

CPPT Event #15 – $500 NLH ‘Double Black Chip’ Bounty Final Table Results:

The final event of the series was the $240 buy-in no-limit hold’em turbo event. With 35 entries the tournament created a $7,245 prize pool, awarding the largest chunk of that to eventual champion Yousaf Tranam. Tranam struck a deal heads-up with Ezra Udoff that saw him secure the title.
