2019 will mark the 50th annual running of the World Series of Poker, taking place from May 28 through July 16. The special anniversary was already set to be commemorated with a number of special poker events, including the Big 50 event and a $50,000 high roller tournament.

On Thursday, May 16 the WSOP announced plans for another exciting event celebrating the historic milestone: the ‘First Fifty Honors & Dinner.’ The special evening will take place on Saturday, June 29. The event will feature a dinner open to WSOP bracelet winner and other VIP guests, to be followed by the First Fifty Honors, which will be hosted by ESPN’s WSOP commentators Lon McEachern and Norman Chad.

“From its founding by the Binion family in 1970, no one could have foreseen what the modern-day World Series of Poker has become,” said WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart. “It’s only fitting we take an evening out from poker playing to celebrate the great game of poker and all the characters who have made a mark on the WSOP over the past five decades.”

The event will feature seven different awards categories voted on by the public and poker players. The online vote kicks off on May 16 and will run through June 15.
