Dash Dudley Wins His Second World Series of Poker Pot-Limit Omaha Bracelet of 2019

American poker pro Dash Dudley has managed to win World Series of Poker gold bracelets playing pot-limit Omaha on two different continents in 2019. The 34-year-old overcame a field of 476 total entries to take down the WSOP Europe €550 buy-in PLO event, earning his second gold bracelet just shy of four months after securing his first in the $10,000 pot-limit Omaha championship at the WSOP in Las Vegas.

“I feel great. The heater is officially real. They said when you go on tournament runs they kind of come in bunches so I decided to come over here and try Europe for the first time,” said Dudley after securing the title. “It’s actually my first time playing outside of the United States, so it was a really cool experience… just totally blessed for this opportunity.”

In addition to earning his second piece of WSOP hardware, Dudley was also awarded €51,600 ($57,276 USD) and 360 Card Player Player of the Year points for the win. With two titles and year-to-date earnings of $mroe than $1.1 million, Dudley now sits in 65th place in the 2019 POY race standings, which are sponsored by Global Poker.

The final day of this event saw Denis Drobina leading with six players left in contention. Dudley was sitting in fourth chip position when play resumed. An extremely short-stacked Oshri Lahmani was the first to fall when his top pair and three live kickers failed to beat out the flush draw and lower pair of Christopher Back. Lahmani ultimately earned $8,714 USD as the sixth-place finisher when his opponent rivered trips to lock up the pot.

WSOP bracelet winner Ivo Donev was the next to hit the rail. He got all-in holding JJ62 up against the AAQ7 of Dudley. The board came down K10810A. Donev rivered a flush, but Dudley made aces full of tens on the end to win the pot. Donev took home $12,099 USD for finishing fifth.

Christopher Back made a pair of flushes to eliminate Ming Juen Teoh (4th – $16,900 USD) and Denis Drobina (3rd – $24,226 USD). Dudley held the lead to start heads-up play, and was able to just more than a 4:1 advantage by the time the final hand was dealt. Back raised on the button to 725,000 with the A1097 and Dudley defended his big blind with QJ98.

The flop came down K65 and both players checked. The 7 turn prompted Dudley to bet 450,000. Back shoved all-in for 1,600,000. Dudley called with his straight and the river brought the K, locking up the pot and the title for the American. Back earned $35,326 USD as the runner-up finisher.
