Thirty-two players began day 3 yesterday in the hopes of making it to the final eight.

Sebastian Ruthenberg got off to a flying start, moving in early against Salvatore Bonavena. The outcome was not in his favor but this didn't deter him from ploughing on. The cards did not seem to fall his way whenever all-in but he managed to stay strong until the very end.

Petr Samcenko was the last Czech in the event, but was also the first to go. He took home €11,000 for his efforts.Francesco Cirianni

John Riley was the next casualty, also leaving with €11,000.

Francesco Cirianni took a chunk of chips off Ludovic Lacay and then set his sights on Shander De Vries. De Vries pushed all in with pocket kings and Cirianni called with pocket nines. The board looked safe up until the turn: J427 but then the river dropped: 9 and De Vries was absolutely crippled with less than 30,000 chips to his name.

After some more bust outs:

28 - Haward Speer €11,000

29 - Joris Jaspers €11,000

30 - Roy Von Der Locht €11,000

De Vries saw his tournament life come to an end. He was eliminated in 27th place with the prize money amount of €11,000. The young gun showed a lot of potential and most likely would have gone far had Bonavena's pocket nines not sucked out on the river to beat his kings in that detrimental hand.

Ludovic LacayThe numbers flew down in the early to mid levels.

Those knocked out were as follows:

23 - Alexander Andermatt: €13,800

24 - Phulippe Baa Carlier: €13,800

25 - Georgios Gatselos: €11,000

26 - Brian Jensen: €11,000

Then Ludovic Lacay, who finished eighth in the Polish Open and was hoping for another final table, raised an initial bet by the player to his left, but was faced with an all-in from Francesco Cirianni. He called and the two revealed their cards:

Lacay: KJ

Cirianni: 99

Board: K109610

Lacay was eliminated in 22nd place (€13,800) but once again has done France proud.

The rest of the bustouts were:

10 - Jonathan Duhamel, Canada, €42,800

11 - Daniel Drescher, Canada, PokerStars player, €30,400

12 - Juan Maceiras, Spain, PokerStars sponsored player, €30,400

13 - Igor Rejdovjan, Slovakia, €22,100

14 - Domenico Iannonne, Italy, €22,100

15 - Rifat Palevic, Sweden, €16,600

16 - Dan Pedersen, Denmark, €16,600

17 - Jens Hansen, Denmark, €13,800

18 - Daniel Biro, Hungary, PokerStars qualifier, €13,800

19 - Manuel Bevand, France, €13,800

20 - Jakob Eberg, Sweden, €13,800

Things really slowed down late in the day, especially as we got to the final table bubble. There were a few all-ins but no players busting until:

Sebastian Ruthenberg moved all in and Massimo Di Cicco came over the top.Sebastian Ruthenberg

Di Sicco had AK and Ruthenberg KQ. The board to end day 3 was 843J9 and Ruthenberg was dominated.

He left the tournament in ninth place, but shouldn't feel too bad as he now is the proud owner of €42,800.

The line up and chip counts going into the final table in just moments are:

Salvatore Bonavena: 1,402,000

Alexiou Konstantinos: 1,382,000

Francesco Cirianni: 807,000

Fredrik Nygard: 666,000

Massimo Di Cicco: 429,000

Nasr El Nasr: 376,000

Raul Mestre: 309,000

Andrew Chen: 309,000

It looks like we have three Italians, one Canadian, one German, one Spanish, one Finnish, and one Greek player all seeking the top prize of $774,000. Stay tuned to see how it all pans out.
