Foxwoods Poker Classic Begins Today

The Tournament Series Will Feature 14 Events

The 2009 Foxwoods Poker Classic tournament series began today at Foxwoods Resort and Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut. Games will be spread featuring primarily no-limit hold’em, with one seven-card stud event, one shootout event, and a ladies event mixed into the schedule. Each tournament in the series will have Card Player Player of the Year points up for grabs. All tournaments will begin at 10 a.m., except for the second event on the schedule for Sunday, Apr. 5, which begins at 6 p.m. Mega-satellites will run on Mar. 26 and Apr. 1 at 6 p.m., and Apr. 2 at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

All tournament days in the World Poker Tour championship event begin at noon, with the final table starting at 4 p.m. Players will begin with 30,000 in chips in the championship event, and levels will last for 90 minutes. Here is a look at the full schedule of events:

Monday, Mar. 23: Event No. 1 ($300 no-limit hold’em shootout)
Tuesday, Mar. 24: Event No. 2 ($400 limit hold’em)
Wednesday, Mar. 25: Event No. 3 ($600 no-limit hold’em)
Thursday, Mar. 26: Event No. 4 ($300 ladies no-limit hold’em)
Friday, Mar. 27: Event No. 5 ($1,000 no-limit hold’em)
Saturday, Mar. 28: Event No. 6 ($2,500 no-limit hold’em)
Sunday, Mar. 29: Event No. 7 ($1,500 no-limit hold’em)
Monday, Mar. 30: Event No. 8 ($500 no-limit hold’em)
Tuesday, Mar. 31: Event No. 9 ($400 seven-card stud)
Wednesday, Apr. 1: Event No. 10 ($5,000 no-limit hold’em)
Saturday, Apr. 4: Event No. 12 ($1,000 no-limit hold’em)
Sunday, Apr. 5: Event No. 13 ($1,000 no-limit hold’em)
Sunday, Apr. 5: Event No. 14 ($300 no-limit hold’em)
