Numerous European-Based Online Poker Rooms On Blacklist Despite Not Accepting U.S. Players

The Minnesota Department of Public Safety has released the blacklist of sites it is trying to block its residents from accessing and some surprising names appear, not least because they do not accept U.S. players.

Releasing the list to Internet Service Providers, the Department informed them: “Attached is a list of online gambling sites and Keystone Copstelephone numbers that are available to your Minnesota customers. This gambling is illegal within Minnesota. The provided list should provide sufficient information for your network systems personnel to block access to these sites by customers located within Minnesota.”

The list includes some (but not all) iPoker rooms including Betfred, Mansion Poker and Titan Poker. iPoker does not accept players from the U.S.

Roker Room is on the list despite closing its doors a few weeks ago, as is Everest Poker which also does not accept US players.

A number of British Plc’s including Ladbrokes and William Hill have sites (URLs) on the list and neither accepts U.S. players.

The swift nature with which this story broke earlier this week and the erroneous inclusion of many sites patently not offering products in the U.S. (never mind Minnesota) would suggest a little more research should have gone into this censorship project which is clearly costing the good taxpayers of Minnesota a chunk of their hard earned tax dollars.
