Unofficial final table, nine handed, with the blinds at 10,000 and 20,000 and a 3,000 ante, Bonomo raised to 40,000 from the cutoff seat, Ivey reraised to 110,000 from the small blind, Bonomo called. On the Flop, Ivey bet 110,000, Bonomo called. On the Turn, Ivey bet 200,000, Bonomo went all-in, Ivey called and was all-in.
Ivey’s preflop reraise was geared to build a pot while driving the big blind out of the hand, tempting Bonomo with the call of 70,000 more for the pot of 197,000. Bonomo came along, and the case King gave him top pair with the four flush. Ivey loved the flop as well, continuing to bait his opponent with his lead of less than half of the pot. Bonomo must have been confident he held the winner on the flop and expected his opponent to submit the continuation bluff, but of course Ivey held the current nuts with top set. Ivey continued to lead on the turn where the Trey coordinated a potential straight draw, and Bonomo was happy to spring into action, confident he held the best hand. In fact he was a 4.5 : 1 dog. Ivey had to fade the spades, but Bonomo’s dream week continued as scored the flush on the river, eliminating a fearsome opponent while commencing the final table with one third of this chips in play. This was reminiscent of earlier in the week, when he started the €100,000 super high roller final table with 40% of the chips in play. Ivey earned €73,200 for his 9th place finish.
