Paolini made an ill-fated steal attempt with the 9Club Suit5Diamond Suit and was called by the pocket jacks of Aadam Daya. Daya nailed a set on the flop and had Paolini dead.

Joshua Roberts Eliminated in 12th Place ($40,121)

Roberts was racing with A-J against the pocket nines of Aadam Daya. The nines held and Roberts was sent to the rail close to the final table.

Cory Brown Makes a Huge Bluff

Nick Mitchell raised from the cutoff and Cory Brown three-bet from the button. Mitchell four-bet and Brown made the quick call. The flop came 8Spade Suit8Club Suit6Heart Suit and Mitchell bet about a third of the pot with 225,000. Brown called quickly. The 7Spade Suit fell on the turn and Mitchell checked this time. Brown insta-checked behind. The KClub Suit fell on the river and Mitchell checked again. Brown hesitated momentarily before moving all in, having Mitchell covered. Mitchell tanked before folding and Brown exposed the 3Diamond Suit2Spade Suit for a stone-cold bluff.

Dmitry Gromov Eliminated in 11th Place ($40,121)

One hand after Gromov lost a flip for almost all his stack, he was all in with the 9Spade Suit4Diamond Suit against the pocket aces of Isaac Settle. 9-4 offsuit failed to draw out and Gromov was gone.

Irving Rice Eliminated in 10th Place ($40,121)

The father of tablemate Rich Rice moved in from the small blind with pocket queens after Gabe Costner raised under the gun with ADiamond SuitKDiamond Suit. Costner hit a king on the turn to send Rice to the rail.

Jeremiah Degreef Eliminated

In a standard blind vs. blind scenario, Dash Dudley moved all in against the short stack of Jeremiah Degreef, who woke up with queens in the big blind. Dudley exposed the ASpade Suit9Club Suit and was behind. However, the flop brought and ace and Degreef was eliminated.

Nick Mitchell bet 75,000 under the gun. Action folded to to Eric Baldwin in the big blind. Baldwin moved all in for 646,000. Mitchell made the call with the JSpade SuitJDiamond Suit and was racing against the KDiamond SuitQClub Suit. The board ran out JClub Suit3Spade Suit3Club Suit7Diamond SuitKSpade Suit and Baldwin was eliminated. Mitchell is now up to 1,300,000.

Dash Dudley bet 60,000 preflop and Eric Baldwin three-bet to 152,000. Rich Rice then moved all in and Dudley quickly folded. Baldwin quickly folded as well. Rich is now up to 1,000,000.

Nick Mitchell Eliminates an Opponent

A player on the button shipped in for 125,000 and Nick Mitchell made the call from the big blind with the QDiamond Suit10Diamond Suit. His opponent tabled the dominated 10Spade Suit9Spade Suit. Mitchell’s hand held and he is now at 860,000 in chips.

Dudley made the 366,000 chip call and exposed the ASpade SuitADiamond Suit. He was in great shape against the pocket sixes of Costner. The board ran safe for Dudley and he doubled to almost 800,000.

Ashira Lavine Doubles Up

Ashira Lavine open shipped for 251,000 and was called by Sam Paolini. Paolini tabled the 8Heart Suit8Diamond Suit and Lavine flipped over the ASpade SuitQDiamond Suit. The turn gave Lavine a pair of queens and they held to double her up to over 500,000.

Drew Crawford Eliminated

Former chip leader Drew Crawford shoved from the button with 350,000 with the JHeart Suit8Heart Suit. He was called by Irving Rice’s A-Q. Crawford failed to beat the over cards and he was eliminated.

Sanjay Pandya Eliminated

Sam Paolini bet 50,000 preflop with pocket queens and Sanjay Pandya moved all in for about 150,000 total. Paolini made the quick call and Pandya tabled ASpade Suit10Spade Suit. The board failed to offer any help and he was eliminated.

The JSpade Suit on the river prompted another check from the big blind. Baldwin bet 87,000 this time and the big blind quickly called and exposed the ASpade SuitKHeart Suit. Baldwin tabled the AHeart SuitQSpade Suit for the chop.

Eric Baldwin raised a 40,000 preflop bet to 108,000. Baldwin’s opponent tanked and called. The flop came 7Club Suit7Diamond Suit3Spade Suit and the action went check-check. The KHeart Suit landed on the turn and Baldwin’s opponent checked. Baldwin bet 112,000. His opponent took some time before moving all in and Baldwin insta-folded. Baldwin is down to about 200,000.

Robert Scott Doubles Up Opponent

Robert Scott raised preflop and the player next to act moved in with pocket aces. Scott made the 175,000 chip call with the AClub SuitQClub Suit. He failed to draw out and is down to 400,000.

Nancy Todd Tyner was short stacked in the big blind, while the aggressive Eric Baldwin was in the small blind. In a standard tournament scenario, Eric Baldwin put Tyner in with the 8Heart Suit3Heart Suit and Tyner made the easy call with A-Q. Her hand held and she doubled up to about 100,000.

Baldwin had been bleeding some chips early on. In a cooler blind vs. blind scenerio, Baldwin held the AClub SuitJHeart Suit while his opponent held KSpade SuitKClub Suit in the small blind. The small blind called the big blind and Baldwin raised 24,000 more. The small blind shoved and Baldwin tanked. He eventually made the call. An ace in the door gave Baldwin the huge advantage on the flop. The turn and river were safe and Baldwin doubled up to 500,000.

Nancy Todd Tyner

Nancy Todd Tyner Eliminated

Tyner raised with the JDiamond SuitJSpade Suit from the cutoff and the player on the button moved all in for 175,000 total, having Tyner barely covered. Tyner insta-called and was in great shape against the 10-10 of her opponent. The board kept getting scarier as it ran out 9Club Suit8Heart Suit4Club Suit6Spade Suit, before disaster struck with the 7Club Suit on the river. Tyner’s opponent made a straight on the end to send her packing.

Just 41 players remain to begin level 20 with blinds at 6,000-12,000 and a 1,000 ante. However, everyone still left after wading through a field of 4,345 entrants could be in store for a brutal final day at the Rio. Action will not conclude until someone walks away with the $625,872 first place prize.

The chip average to start the road to the final table is 317,926, after a day 2 that witnessed over 400 eliminations.
