Day 2 of event no. 29, the $10,000 limit hold’em championship has played the required ten levels for the day and the tournament has been widdled down to its final 13 players.
Kyle Ray and Daniel Idema are the two players everybody is chasing heading into the final day. They have 643,000 and 634,000 respectively. David Baker (pictured right) made his third cash of the series and is looking to make his second final table. He is currently fourth in chips with 542,000.
Michael Mizrachi and David Chiu are also both still alive in the tournament, but are going to need help from the poker gods as they are currently near the bottom of the chip counts. This is Mizrachi’s third cash of the series and he is looking to make his third final table.
Players will return to the Amazon room on Thursday for a restart at 3 p.m., where they will play down to a bracelet winner.
Everybody is guaranteed a payday of $27,069, but there is alot of money up for grabs with first place being worth $425,969.

Level 17 continued on until the bubble popped, and this was the last hand of that level. Simon Morris raised from the button and Greg DeBora put his last 25,000 in from the big blind.
Morris held the 75, but needed help against DeBora’s A3. The board ran out 721066, giving Morris a pair of sevens and the pot.
Now all 18 players remaining are guaranteed a payday of $22,809.
Kenny Hsiung Eliminated
It was a classic race situation when Kenny Hsiung got his last chips into the middle preflop with 1010 against Jameson Painter’s AK.
Painter won the race as the board ran out 4433K and Hsiung was eliminated in 18th place, with a parting gift of $22,809.
Gianluca Marcucci Eliminated
Gianluca Marcucci raised under-the-gun and Jameson Painter three-bet from the big blind. Marcucci committed the last of his chips and showed K9 and was up against Painter’s AQ.
The board ran out Q84J4, giving the pot to Painter and send Marcucci home. Marcucci left $22,809 richer.
Matthew Gallin Eliminated
Matthew Gallin raised preflop and was reraised by Brock Parker. Gallin moved all in for a fourth bet and Parker called.
Parker was in bad shape when he saw that Gallin had KQ and Parker held K10. The flop came J6Q, giving Gallin top pair, but Parker a straight draw. The turn was a blank, the 6, but the 9 on the river gave Parker the nut straight and the pot.
Gallin left with a bad beat story and $22,809.

Michael Reed Busts to Officially Start the Bubble
Michael Reed raised from under-the-gun and Daniel Idema three-bet and Reed called off the rest of his chips. They were off to the races as Reed showed AK and was up against the 66 of Idema.
The board ran out 5310J10, which you will notice does not contain an ace or a king, meaning the sixes hold up and Reed is eliminated in 20th place. Hand for hand play will take place until we lose one more player and are officially in the money.
Aces for Keikoan
Simon Morris raised and Matt Keikoan three-bet, which was called by Morris. The flop came 8QK and both players checked.
The turn was the 4 and Morris bet and was called by Keikoan. The 2 river brought the same action and Morris turned up K10, good for top pair, but Keikoan showed AA, and would take the pot and increase his stack to 190,000. Morris dropped to 170,000.
DeBora Hanging On For Dear Life
A severely short stacked Greg DeBora got all of his chips in the middle preflop and was called by Jameson Painter. DeBora held pocket nines and Painter held the J5.
DeBora’s hand held up and he doubled up to 55,000.
Gallin’s Kings Keep Him From Being the Bubble Boy
Matthew Gallin raised and Kenny Hsiung three-bet. Gallin committed the rest of his chips with a call.
Gallin held KK and Hsiung held the 44. The board ran out AQ822, keeping Gallin in the tournament for the time being.

Walsh called and the flop was 24A and Walsh called a bet from Baker. The turn was the 9and Baker checked and called a bet from Walsh.
The river was the A and both players checked. Baker showed QQ and Walsh mucked. Baker increased his stack to 185,000 while Walsh slipped to 315,000.
Minnullin Flops the Nuts, Gets the Pot
Kyle Ray raised and was three-bet by Albert Minnullin. Ray made the call and the two saw a flop of KQ10. Ray check-raised Minnullin’s bet on the flop and Minnullin called.
The turn was the 5 and Ray led and was raised by Minnullin. Ray called and check-called one more bet on the river when the 7 fell.
Minnullin showed AJ, good for the nut straight and is up to 190,000.
Newhouse’s Jacks Can’t Hold
Mark Newhouse got all of his chips in the middle on a K87 flop against Brock Parker.
Newhouse held JJ and was well ahead of Parker’s A9. The turn was the 7, but Parker hit an ace on the river to send Newhouse home just a few spots before the money.
Christoph Kwon Eliminated
Mark Klecan raised from the cutoff and Christoph Kwon three-bet from the small blind.
Klecan made the call and the flop was 356. Kwon bet and was called by Klecan. The J fell on the turn and Kwon moved his last 4,000 into the middle and was called by Klecan.
Klecan had 44 and Kwon had KQ and needed to pair up to win the hand. The river was the 3 and Klecan took the pot.

Andre Akkari got into a raising war preflop with Michael Mizrachi and after four bets, Akkari got his last 33,000 in the middle preflop with AJ against Mizrachi’s pocket threes.
Mizrachi flopped another three and left Akkari drawing dead by the turn card and Mizrachi is up to 395,000 in chips.
Toto Leonidas Eliminated
David Chiu check-raised Toto Leonidas on a flop of J94 and Leonidas made the call. The turn was the K and Chiu led, but was raised by Leonidas. Chiu quickly made it four bets and Leonidas called.
The 7 was the river and Chiu had bet it dark. Leonidas folded and left himself with just 7,000. He was eliminated on the very next hand when he couldn’t survive his all in.
Steve Sung Hits the Rail
Christoph Kwon raised and was called by Steve Sung. The flop was 9510 and Sung let out and was raised by Kwon. Sung made the call and they saw the A fall on the turn. They got the rest of Kwon’s chips in on the turn and Kwon showed 1010 and had Sung’s AK drawing dead.
This left Sung with just 9,000 and was eliminated on the next hand when he failed to survive his all-in. Kwon climbed to 110,000.

With the board reading 2854 and already over 100,000 in the middle, Justin Bonomo bet, which left him with just one 5,000 chip. Zvi Groysman thought for a bit before raising to make Bonomo put his last chip in.
Groysman showed 99 and was up against the AQ of Bonomo. The river was the 10, keeping Groysman’s nines in the lead and giving him up the pot, while Bonomo’s bracelet dreams were dashed.
Lunkin Done In by Hsiung
Vitaly Lunkin three-bet a raise from middle position by Kenny Hsiung and called Hsiung’s fourth bet. Hsiung bet in the dark and Lunkin raised in the dark as the flop came A4Q and Hsiung called the raise.
The rest of the money went in on the 7 turn card and Hsiung showed KK and was ahead of Lunkin’s JJ.
The river was the 5 and Lunkin was eliminated.
Brett Richey Comes Out on the Short End of Massive Pot
Five bets went in preflop between Albert Minnullin, Pat Walsh, and Brett Richey. Michael Reed was all-in in between them for just 15,500.
The flop was 643 and Minnullin checked and eventually folded. Walsh bet, Richey raised, Walsh put in a third bet and Richey committed the last of his chips for a fourth bet. Walsh called and the cards were turned up.
Richey had AK, Reed had A7, and Walsh had QQ. The turn was the 4 and the river was the 5, giving Reed a straight and got him the main pot and his stack up to 60,000, while Walsh takes the much bigger side pot and eliminated Richey.
Vladimir Can’t Final Table This $10k Event
Matt Keikowan, Vladimir Schmelev, and Greg DeBora all put in four bets before the 752 flop.
DeBora bet, Schmelev called off his last 3,000, and Keikowan called. The turn was the 9 and DeBora bet and called a raise from Keikowan. The river was the K and DeBora checked and called a bet from Keikowan.
Keikowan showed the AA and DeBora mucked. Schmelev had the J10 and was sent to the rail. Keikowan is up to 210,000 and DeBora dropped to 170,000

The turn was the Q and Ivey bet again and Lunkin put the last of his chips in. Ivey showed A10 and Lunkin showed Q7.
Ivey slipped to 27,000 and Lunkin doubled up to 50,000 with the pot.
Nick Schulman Eliminated
Nick Schulman got his last 10,000 in before the flop with pocket fives and ran into Ugur Marangoz’s pocket sixes.
The board ran out KJ37K and Schulman was eliminated shortly after the dinner break.
Greenstein Hits a Five to Stay Alive
Bill Chen raised and was called by Justin Bonomo in the small blind and Barry Greenstein who was in the big blind.
The flop came A2Q and both Bonomo and Greenstein checked to Chen, who made a bet. Chen was met with a check-raise from Bonomo and Greestein committed the last of his chips with a call. Chen got out of the way and Greenstein and Bonomo went to showdown.
Bonomo showed the A9 and was way ahead of Greenstein’s A5. The turn was the 8, but the 5 on the river vaulted Greenstein to the lead and gave him the pot.
Greenstein doubled up to 48,000 and Bonomo dropped to 32,000.
Jennifer Harman Eliminated
We got to the action late, but we saw Jennifer Harman’s A8 not able to outdraw the pocket kings of Hoyt Corkins and she was sent to the rail.

Kenny Hsiung raised from the button and was three-bet by Vitaly Lunkin from the big blind. Hsiung put in a fourth bet and Lunkin tossed in a call.
The flop was K32 and Lunkin check-called a bet from Hsiung. The turn was the Q and the same action happened. The river was the K and Lunkin checked for a third time and Hsiung thought for a while before putting out a bet.
Lunkin quickly called and showed K6, good for three kings and Hsiung showed AA. Lunkin is now up to 115,000 with the pot.
Harman Drops One
Jennifer Harman raised from the button and Patrick Walsh called from the big blind. They saw a flop of K62 and Walsh checked and called a bet from Harman.
Both players checked when the 4 fell on the turn and Harman called when Walsh led the 6 river card.
Walsh showed pocket deuces, giving him a full house and Harman mucked and slipped to 52,000.

Simon Morris raised from early position and Tom Dwan made the call from the big blind.

We picked up the action on the turn with the board reading KK2J. David Olson checked and called a bet from Barry Greenstein. The river was the A and Olson checked and called again.
Greenstein showed the AK, giving him a full house and Olson mucked his hand, leaving himself with just 3,000 in chips. Greenstein now has 56,000.
Corkins Can’t Beat Ace-King
Brent Courso raised from early position and was called by Hoyt Corkins.
The flop was 10410 and Courson checked and called a bet from Corkins. The turn was the 8c and Courson check-called once again.
The river was the 6h and now both players checked. Courson turned up AK and Corkins had the AQ, sending the pot to Courson, who has climbed to 106,000 in chip, while Corkins fell to 92,000.
