Eliminations: 2nd: Rasmus Neilsen - $389,557
JC Tran Wins Event 49 ($631,170) - Rasmus Nielsen Eliminated in 2nd Place ($389,557)
From the button, JC Tran raised to 215,000. Rasmus Niesen made the call, checking the flop of Q82, then calling Tran's bet of 275,000. The turn brought the 4, another check from Nielsen, and a big bet from Tran for 900,000. Nielsen responded by moving all-in, and Tran made the call, slapping KQ to the felt for the lead against Nielsen's QJ. The river was a blank, the 2, cementing Tran's victory and his first bracelet win. Tran's gaggle of railbirds exploded into celebration, swarming him and cheering loudly.
Nielsen was eliminated in 2nd place, earning $389,557 for his finish.
Blinds: 40,000-80,000
Ante: 10,000
Players Remaining: 2
Notable Hands:
From the button, JC Tran raised to 215,000, and Nielsen made the call. Both players checked the flop, which came 336. The 8 fell on the turn, and Nielsen led out for 200,000, soliciting a quick call from Tran. On the river, the 9, Nielsen gave up control of the hand, checking to Tran, who bet 350,000. Nielsen made the crying call, but was unable to best Tran's K8, surrending the chip lead to Tran, who now held 4,560,000 to Nielsen's 3,650,000.
Rasmus Nielsen popped it from the button to 215,000 before the flop, and Tran made the call. Tran checked the flop of Q32, and called Nielsen's bet of 275,000. Both players checked the turn, J. The river paired the board and completed a possible flush draw with the J. Tran muscled in with a bet of 600,000, which was too much for Nielsen, who bowed out of the pot.
Nielsen hasn't given up yet, however. Later in the round, when JC raised to 215,000 before the flop, Rasmus put in a mighty three bet, making it 650,000 total. Tran made the call, but was forced to fold on the flop of QJ4 when Nielsen continued his aggression with a bet of 1,350,000. After the hand, Tran and Nielsen were nearly even in chips. Tran maintained a slight lead, holding 4,230,000 to Nielsen's 3,920,000.
After further closing the gap, Nielsen limped in from the button, allowing Tran to check his option. Tran check-called Nielsen's 100,000 bet on the flop of K75. As usual, both players checked the turn, this time the A. The 10 fell on the river, and Tran led out for 200,000. Nielsen made the call, but threw his cards into the muck when JC turned over Q7.
Blinds: 40,000-80,000
Ante: 10,000
Chip Counts:
Rasmus Nielsen: 4,300,000
JC Tran: 3,800,000
Notable Hands:
Pots are small and showdowns were few and far between during the first level of heads up play.
Here are a few hands that made it to the river:
Nielsen limped in and Tran checked his option. Both players checked the flop of Q73, and the turn of 6. Tran then fired out 100,000 on the river after the 9 fell. Nielsen made the call, but Tran's K9 was enough to take down the pot.
Rasmus Nielsen raised on the button to 180,000, and JC Tran called. Both players checked down the entire board, which ran out AKK23. Nielsen rolled over pocket jacks on the end, taking the pot down as Tran mucked his hand.
Nielsen limped in and Tran checked. Both players checked the flop of KJJ. The A fell on the turn, and Tran moved 75,000 into the middle. Nielsen matched the bet, and both players saw the river, which brought the 3. Tran continued applying pressure, this time with a bet of 225,000. Nielsen made the call, and turned over J8, but that wasn't enough to best Tran's turned straight with Q10.
Tran limped the button and Nielsen checked. Both players checked the flop, which came K46. The turn brought the J. Nielsen threw in a bet of 85,000, and Tran popped it to 300,000. Nielsen made the call, checking the river, which brought the 5. Tran then made the largest bet of heads up play, putting 675,000 in dark green chips out in front of him. Nielsen made the call, and could only roll his eyes and flash the K after Tran turned over K4 for the win.
Tran closed the gap further several hands later. He raised from the button to 215,000, and Nielsen made the call. The flop came A62, Nielsen checked, and Tran bet out for 200,000. Nielsen made the call nonchalantly. Both players checked the turn when the 9 fell, but when the 10 came on the turn, Nielsen made a bet of 425,000. Tran made the call, showing A10 for top two pair, which was good enough to take down the sizable pot.
The players are now nearly even in chips, with Nielsen maintaining only a half million chip lead.

Peter Nguyen Eliminated in 4th Place ($233,734)
Preflop, a severely short stacked Peter Nguyen moved all in for his last 225,000. Chip leader Rasmus Nielsen made the call from the small blind, and the players turned over their cards.
Nguyen: 97
Nielsen: KJ
The flop looked like a walk for Nguyen, coming 774 to give the short stack a set of sevens. The turn improved Nielsen to two outs with the K, giving him a 5% chance of winning the pot. Nguyen crawled inside his hood, dreading the fall of the final card. His fatal outlook, unfortunately, was quite astute, as the K did in fact fall on the river, giving Nielsen the bigger full house and the pot. Nguyen shipped his stack to the chip leader, and went to collect his $233,734 payday for his fourth place finish.
John Conroy Eliminated in 3rd Place ($278,255)
John Conroy opened with a raise to 175,000. Rasmus Nielsen then asked him to count his remaining stack, which totaled around 800,000. Something about the number must have appealed to Nielsen, as he then announced an all-in raise. Conroy made the call with little hesitation, and the players flipped up their hands.
Nielsen: A8
Conroy: AQ
It seems that either the poker gods have taken a shine to Rasmus Nielsen, or his massive stack has developed a magnetic charge capable of drawing in whatever other chips make their way to the felt. Nielsen hit his three outer, pairing his eight on the flop of 855. Conroy failed to redraw on the turn, the 3, and the river, the 4.

Tran Stumbles, Nielsen Bullies
On the last hand of the 20,000-40,000 level, Rasmus Nielsen raised to 110,000 in late position. Chip leader J.C. Tran called from the big blind. The flop showed J96, and Tran checked it over to Nielsen, who bet out for 165,000. Tran made the call and the dealer peeled off the turn, the K. Again, Tran checked, and this time Nielsen pushed 400,000 chips into the pot. Tran once again called, and once again checked on the river, the 6. Nielsen thought for a little while before announcing a bet of 1 million. Tran thought for some time, counting out the two columns of dark green chips it would cost him to make the call. He eventually sent the chips into the middle, but mucked his hand after Nielsen showed down 9-9 for a rivered full house, winning the pot and regaining the chip lead.
A few hands later the two were at it again. Tran raised to 130,000 before the flop and Nielsen called. Both players checked the flop of KQ8. The turn brought the 5, and Tran took a stab at the pot, betting 200,000. Nielsen bumped it up to 700,000, and Tran folded. After the hand, Nielsen was over the 5 million chip mark, while Tran was down to 1.2 million.
Even after this hit, Tran continued to apply pressure to the table. A few hands later, he raised to 130,000, but was then faced with Peter Nguyen's re-raise all in to 785,000. Tran tanked for some time before folding. Nguyen showed AK, and raked in the tasty pot.
Conroy Runs Over Nguyen, Runs Up Stack
John Conroy raised preflop from the button to 155,000. Peter Nguyen called from the big blind. The flop ran 962, and Nguyen tossed out a bet of 175,000 only to have Conroy jam all in for 535,000. Nguyen laid it down, and exchanged places with Conroy to become the table's new short stack.
The very next hand, Conroy raised to 155,000 from the cutoff, and Nguyen called out of the small blind. Nguyen checked the flop of AA7, only to once again have Conroy jam the pot. Nguyen looked at his cards remorsefully for some time before electing to fold to Conroy's aggression once again.
A few hands later, Conroy fired out his 155,000 preflop raise, this time from under the gun. Only Rasmus Nielsen called from the small blind. Both players checked the flop of Q72. On the turn, which brought the J, Nielsen led out for 200,000. Conroy then popped it to 700,000, pushing Nielsen off of his hand and taking down another nice pot.
Joe Pelton Eliminated in 5th Place ($191,068)
Joe Pelton moved all in preflop for his last 330,000 chips. JC Tran made the call, bringing Pelton to his feet to sweat his tournament life. Pelton turned over a meager looking Q6, live but trailing against Tran's KJ. The flop was kind to Pelton, coming 762. The turn brought a meaningless 8, but the K on the turn hammered in the last nail on Pelton's coffin, pairing Tran's king and sending Pelton home in fifth place. Tran moved back into second place after the win.
Players are on a 20 minute break.
When they return blinds will move up to 30,000-60,000.

Eliminations:
6th: Chad Siu - $150,257
Chad Siu Eliminated in 6th Place ($150,257)
From middle position, Chad Siu moved all in for his last 210,000. After displaying some inner turmoil, Joe Pelton reluctantly made the call.
Pelton: A9
Siu: AK
Siu was in good shape to score a much needed double up. The flop was unimposing, 1074, as was the turn, the 3, since Siu was the only one holding a spade, leaving Pelton with only two outs. One of those outs was the 9, however, which appeared on the river to send Siu to the rail in 6th place. Pelton, looking somewhat guilty, raked in the pot and went back to work.
Chip Leaders Tangle, Tran Triumphs
JC Tran opened with a raise to 105,000, and was called only by Rasmus Nielson in the big blind. On the flop of 943, Nielson led out for 150,000. Tran made the call. The turn brought the 7, and once again Nielson fired at the pot, this time for 325,000. Again, Tran elected just to call, and both players went to the river. The 7 hit the felt, pairing the board and missing any heart draws. After staring at the table for nearly a minute, Nielson checked. Tran checked behind, and showed down 96 for the win and the chip lead.
Conroy Gets Lucky
Action folded around to the blinds: Joe Pelton in the small blind, who completed, and John Conroy, who checked his option. The flop showed AJ9. Pelton fired out 70,000, and Conroy moved all in for a total of 420,000. Pelton made the call, and the players turned over their hands.
Conroy: J10
Pelton: A5
Conroy was well behind his opponent. The turn brought a glimmer of hope for a runner-runner miracle, the dealer flipping over the Q and improving Conroy to an open ended straight draw. The river saw the completion of this draw with the 8, giving Conroy the backdoor straight and the double up.
Blinds: 15,000-30,000

Eliminations:
7th: Jesper Hoog - $113,157
8th: Robert Kalb - $85,331
9th: Christoph Kohnen - $58,248
The first round of final table play has been action packed, with three of the original nine players already gone. The remaining six players are now on a 20 minute break.
Short Stack Shuffle
From the button, J.C. Tran raised to 80,000 only to have Chad Siu move all in from the small blind for a total of 204,000. Peter Nguyen got out of the way, and Tran made the call, showing K10 and drawing live against Siu's AQ. Tran was unable to improve as the board ran out 8768J, and Siu doubled up to around 400,000.
Christoph Kohnen Eliminated in 9th Place ($58,248)
John Conroy opened the betting with a raise to 86,000 from early position. Action folded around to Christoph Kohnen in the small blind, who shoved in his short stack of 174,000. Conroy made the call, tabling KJ, which was dominated by Kohnen's AJ. There was no double up in the cards for Kohnen, however, the board running out Q99310 and giving Conroy a straight to take down the pot and send Kohnen to the rail.
Robert Kalb Eliminated in 8th Place ($85,331)
Ramsus Nielsen made the standard opening raise to 80,000, and short stack Robert Kalb moved all in from the big blind, making it 355,000 to go. Nielsen quickly made the call, showing AQ and dominating Kalb's A9.
Kalb failed to find the same luck that Conroy had caught a few hands earlier, however, the flop bringing AK6, the turn 10, and the river 4.
Kalb was sent home in 8th place.
Jesper Hoog Eliminated in 7th Place ($113,157)
Jesper Hoog moved all in for his last 220,000 from middle position before the flop. Peter Nguyen called, and the two players turned over their hands.
Hoog: K7
Nguyen: AK
The board ran out 1022J9, and Nguyen was unable to conjure up any of the deck's three remaining sevens to stay alive. He was eliminated in 7th place, earning over $110,000 for his efforts.
