The Aviation Club in Paris is renowned the world over as one of the globe's leading poker venues and its flagship tournament, Grand Prix de Paris returns for its 10th anniversary May 14-18.
The €10,000 buy-in no-limit hold'em event was, between 2002 and 2006, the European World Poker Tour event and while its sponsor may have changed the quality and indeed TV coverage of the event has not.
The Grand Prix de Paris is the main event of the Rendez-Vous à Paris festival at the Champs-Élysées club which runs from May 1-18. The main event will be broadcast live on TF1.fr and Eurosport.fr while on Saturday, May 17 and Sunday, May 18 the semi-finals and final will be aired live on Eurosport TV - the show will be called "The Poker Night" - bringing this event to an exceptionally thrilling climax for poker fans across Europe.
Viewers will be able to follow the action thanks to a TV table with mini cameras revealing the hole cards and many stars of the international poker community will be interviewed and help with commentary during the tournament.
The Grand Prix de Paris is a very popular stop for many poker players, and is sure to be this year again. Previous winners include Canadian Will Ma (2007, won €422,560), Christian Grundtvig (2006, won €712,500), and Englishman Roland De Wolfe (2005, won €479,680).
