In Card Player TV’s show All Inbox, fans can get advice from the world’s most successful poker pros by sending their questions to [email protected]. In this edition, Chris got his questions answered by World Poker Tour title winner and World Series of Poker bracelet holder Nick Schulman.

Question: What advice do you have for someone who is considering playing poker for a living?

Nick Schulman: Well, if you love it and you want to go for it, just play within your means and don’t take too many risks. Make sure that you have a backup plan.

Q: You said that one of the most important things is playing within your means. Does that mean having a sound bankroll for whatever you are playing?

NS: Yes. You need to have a sound bankroll, you need to love it, and you really need to be a student of the game forever. There are lots of trends in poker. Poker styles change from month to month or year to year, for sure, so you really need to put a lot of time into it.

Q: Do you think there are misconceptions about how glamorous playing poker for a living really is?

NS: Yes, I do. I think there are misconceptions out there about how glamorous almost any job is, so I think poker is included. Spade Suit
