In Card Player TV’s show All Inbox, fans can get advice from the world’s most successful poker pros by sending their questions to [email protected]. In this edition, Sorel Mizzi answers a question regarding the player he fears the most.

Todd K. from Keagan, Wyoming: Who has been the toughest opponent you have ever played?

Sorel MizziSorel Mizzi: This is going to sound like a cliche, but I am going to say Phil Ivey. He has this presence about him that makes you very scared. Well, I wouldn’t say very scared, but he is definitely hard to play against just because of his presence, which in my opinion accounts for so much of his game. He might not be the most fundamentally sound player, and he might not be the best no-limit hold’em player in general, but still, his presence accounts for so much that even seasoned pros just don’t want to play him. The way that he looks at you … he is just Phil Ivey, the epitome of a world-class poker player. I have played with him quite a bit, and it is intimidating, I am not going to lie.

Card Player TV: He reads your soul.

SM: Exactly! Tom Dwan, as well, those piercing blue eyes, they’re scary. You don’t feel comfortable some of the time. So, I would say those two would be the most feared players for me. Spade Suit
