For the first time in its six-season history, the Card Player Poker Tour will head to South Florida. This August, the tour rolls into Pompano Beach for a 10-event series that boasts a combined $485,000 in guarantees.

The beautiful Isle Casino Racing Pompano Park, which recently wrapped up the 10th anniversary of the Florida State Poker Championship, will play host for the CPPT event. The series officially kicks off Aug. 16 with a $200,000 guaranteed, $360 buy-in event that features six starting flights. There are also five $90 qualifiers scheduled, allowing players to get into the tournament at a big discount.

Other events on the schedule include a $300 no-limit hold’em bounty tournament, a $300 six-max no-limit hold’em tournament, a $300 pot-limit Omaha tournament with $200 rebuys, and no-limit hold’em tournaments with buy-ins of $130 and $150.

The highlight of the series is undoubtedly the $1,100 main event, which sports a $200,000 guarantee. There are three starting flights for the main event, kicking off Thursday, Friday, and Saturday between Aug. 23-25. Each player will receive 30,000 in chips to start while enjoying a generous 40-minute blind structure on day 1.

“Not only am I excited about the Card Player Poker Tour coming to Isle Casino Pompano Park, but the entire Pompano team is excited,” says Isle Casino Racing Pompano Park Poker Room Manager Ken Lambert. “This will be the first time that we have had the opportunity to create a partnership with a tour that reaches every card room in the US plus international card rooms. It is exciting to know that we will be reaching new markets and players who are looking for new events that bring big prize pools and unknown players to challenge their skills.”

Lambert added: “In addition to this exciting poker tournament, we also offer One-Card Poker, Three Card Poker, and Ultimate Texas Hold’em in our Poker Room, or take your chance at any of our 1,500 slot machines. While you are on property, stop by any of our fantastic restaurants from casual dining to our fine dining steakhouse Farraddays.”

Players can also buy-in up until the start of day 2, which is Sunday, Aug. 26. The blinds will be increased to 50 minutes on day 2, and 60 minutes during the final table on Monday, Aug. 27. Main event qualifiers begin Wednesday, Aug. 22 and run daily until Sunday. Satellite buy-ins range from $130 to $240.
