The 2022 World Series of Poker is now in full swing, with 23 bracelet events in the books by the time this issue was sent to press. One of the most recent tournaments to conclude was the $25,000 pot-limit Omaha event, won by Tong Li.
Daniel Negreanu finished 16th for $57,738. While that placement and payout are not particularly noteworthy for the six-time bracelet winner and two-time World Poker Tour champion, this score did see Negreanu become the first player in WSOP history to make the money in 200 bracelet events (including online tournaments). The 47-year-old Canadian superstar first cashed at the series back in 1998, winning the $2,000 pot-limit hold’em event for his first bracelet. In addition to being the all-time cash leader in bracelet events, he is also second in WSOP earnings with more than $20.3 million.
All-time bracelet leader Phil Hellmuth is second on this list with 181 cashes. Hellmuth likely would have added to that total a few times over the first few weeks of the series, but had been largely held out of competition after contracting COVID-19. The 1989 main event champion managed one cash in the only event he played this year before going into quarantine, the $1,500 Omaha eight-or-better event, finishing 136th for $2,400. The 57-year-old did return to the live felt as this issue went to press and is hungry to add to his 16 bracelets and nearly $16.3 million in WSOP earnings.
The only player among the top 10 on this leaderboard without a bracelet is Roland Israelashvili. He has accumulated 174 cashes in bracelet events, but has not yet walked away with the gold. He is, however, an eight-time ring winner on the WSOP Circuit. Israelashvili has already cashed five times this summer, bringing his earnings at the series to over $2.3 million.
Only 15 players have cashed 100 times or more in bracelet events. The five not shown above are Shannon Shorr (110), Arkadiy Tsinis (110), Men Nguyen (103), Max Pescatori (101), and 2013 world champion Ryan Riess (100).
