Ari Engel already held the record for the most World Series of Poker Circuit rings won. Thanks to a victory in a $888 buy-in online event held in Pennsylvania in late September, he now has 18 WSOPC titles, two more than his nearest competitor in 16-time champion Maurice Hawkins.
The longtime grinder’s 17th win came back in February of this year. Engel, who also has three WSOP bracelets in his trophy case, now has more than $9.1 million in recorded career earnings under his belt.
Engel now has roughly $1.1 million in recorded earnings in WSOPC events. While he sits atop this leaderboard for number of titles, Hawkins is the clear leader in earnings from WSOPC tournaments with $2.8 million. His most recent victory saw him top a field of 981 entries in the WSOPC Harrah’s Cherokee main event in May.
He is the only player with more than $2 million, with 15-time ring winner Daniel Lowery sitting in second place with $1.8 million accrued across 158 WSOPC scores. Joshua Reichard joins Lowery with 15 rings won.
Michigan player Michael Setera has climbed the leaderboard rapidly, focusing his play almost entirely online. He picked up the first of his 12 rings in 2022, and 11 of them have been won online in Michigan. The online phenom also has eight runner-up finishes and seven third-place showings in that time. ♠
