I’m home for a while now and will be playing online quite a bit. I am enjoying playing the various MTT’s and some mixed games. I had a funny think happen the other night while in Cyprus my last night I had a marginal Internet connection and played the $1 daily with about 11,500 players. I ran well and with 1000 players left and in the money, I fell asleep. It was like 6am for me and just couldn’t keep my eyes open. I had a fair amount of chip and wound up blinding out around 205th place.

My next live event will be the Borgata for their winter series. They have a great assortment of events at a wide range of buy in’s. They have a 2k heads up which is double elimination and a $3,500 main event, which begins on Sunday January 31st with two start days it should have a massive field. You can find the whole schedule at: http://www.theborgata.com/Main.cfm?Category_1=3000&Category_2=3500&Category_3=3510&TournamentID=12985B64-B3AD-3FFA-40218022CE2C5EAC
My new dog arrives tomorrow and I’m very excited. My previous was a trained search and rescue dog and I will begin training him after I give him some time to adjust to his new home.

I spent a lot of time with Kelly Kim in Cyprus and had the opportunity to talk a fair amount of poker with him. I was very impressed with his skill set. We played at the same starting table one day and he played a really solid style and was able to accumulate a lot of chips. He got it all in with an over-pair against 10 9, after his opponent flopped top pair. Of course on the river the guy makes two pair and Kelly hits the rail.

Also at the event is well known cash pro Paul Taylor. I have known Paul since my early days of poker in the Palm Springs Indian Casino’s. Most players who don’t play high stakes cash games probably don’t know much about Paul, but over the past 5 years he has been one of the most successful cash pro’s in Vegas and LA. You can usually find him at anything from the 25-50 to 100-200 PLO and NLH games at the Bellagio and sometimes in the big mixed games as well. He took 3rd place in the 1k tournament and cut through the cash games like a hot knife through butter. The cash games were really fun. Mostly 10-25 NLH and PLO with lots of action all night long. If you are interested in more information about upcoming events in Cyprus let me know and I will keep you updated. They are planning another 10k WPT in the fall.
