This weekend I lost $100,000 in a single heads up sit-n-go. The good news is that it wasn’t my money. Full Tilt runs a promotion called the Ironman Challenge where people who play regularly on the site play in a freeroll where the winner plays three heads up matches against three different FTP pros. If they win all three they get $100,000. Well, I was the third to play him and he had already won his first two. I have played these a few times but this is the first time I have played a player with two wins going for the $100,000. After losing to him I accidently closed the tournament lobby before I could congratulate him, so I want to make sure he and those watching don’t think I was a bad loser. In fact I have mixed emotions playing those things on one hand I definitely am trying my best to win for FTP, but on the other I hate to see the player come that far and get crushed.
Other than that I got totally hooked on Rush tournaments during FTP’s Rush Week. I really enjoyed playing them and hope that FTP spreads more and more of them.
Also, this weekend, it was good to see Grinder make the WSOP final table, very nice guy who really loves the game.
