Michael Jackson, Sarah Palin and Day 1

I made it through day 1 of the Main Event in good shape with 91,000 in chips. I had an interesting table which included Scotty Nguyen and Antonio Tarver (boxing great). Really had a pretty smooth time of it caught a lot of good hands. Scotty was three seats on my right and usually have good luck against him anyways.

Looking forward to playing a short day 2 tomorrow our whole house and one of the chimps some kind of flu, I had a touch of it yesterday too, I think, but it seams to have gone very light on me. I even went to the gym but only ran about 60% normal and felt too weak to do anything else. Feel fine today though. Timmi and my friend Miguel who lives with us are both pretty sick. Miguel has as more chips in the main event than I do so I hope he is feeling better tomorrow.

Hard to believe so many people got shut out yesterday. I do think the 800 number is way inflated. I am sure every bustout railbird in the Rio ran to get in line once they heard it was shutout. Probably more like 150 people.

I have reached my saturation point with Michael Jackson leading off the news every day. He was a great performer(not my cup of tea at all). He was a troubled individual who used children and animals for his amusement and then discarded them. The chimpanzee’s he had were sent away to be warehoused in less than ideal conditions when they were no longer babies, and then he would buy another baby chimp to keep for a couple years before discarding them as well, for the remainder of there 50+ year life experience. He probably just kept the chimps around to entertain his friends(pre-pubescent boys) and didn’t have any use for them when they became to big to play with. Look, I feel sorry for him, he was a pathetic figure, probably a victim of child abuse himself, but lets not idolize and worship him. Also, lets take a lesson about the importance of being able to sleep well at night, use Melatonin not sleeping pills etc.

While I am pissing people off I might as well say something about Sarah Palin walking off the job as Governor of Alaska….“I told you so”. She does what she wants when she wants.

On another note I guy showed up yesterday to play day 1d but had been signed up to play day 1a. They said they were trying to figure out how many chips he had left for day 2 if he was blinded off. Why would they have to do this? If they left his chips they would know, but they picked him up as I informed you they do and would refund his money. I saw they had about ten players listed as DNS(did not show) on day 1A. Bad policy.
