Racism or common sense

Look, Muslims and Christians/Jews have been messing with each other almost since the inception of the two religions. Muslims invaded Europe and the Christians had there Crusade. Things seemed to have cooled off for a while, until later when oil became a factor, and now we are constantly involved over there.

Like it or not we are still viewed as a christian country, no one can be president without claiming to be a christian. G.W. Bush even called his actions a crusade. We are occupying countries, propping up governments, and we support Israel(I am not taking a position here, just stating facts). Right or wrong, these things have all made us hated by some Muslims. That is where most terrorism is likely to come from and therefore where more attention is warranted. If we were messing with Canada, and they brought down some planes, I would say it makes sense to look at Canadians more closely. It’s just common sense not racism.

As far as Tony Dunst mentioning a terrorist “range” in poker terms, they have shown a very narrow range so far. Only one of 20 or so, on or since 9/11, had a western name, all are young men from Muslim countries. I am not saying that we don’t screen anybody else. I am just saying lets dispense with the ineffective security theatrics that make traveling a nightmare. Get body scanners, bomb dogs for everyone and give a little extra scrutiny to people who fit the profile of virtually all recent attempts at terrorism on an airplane.

Lastly, people act like I am advocating doing something pretty bad to the ones fitting the profile. I am only saying that making extra screening completely random is stupid, let them use ALL the info to make it more likely that those fitting a terrorist profile are given the extra attention, not your grandmother.
