Our roommate Cody Slaubaugh won last night's 150 dollar nightly tournament for 30 thousand. Well done, sir. Cody is, I think, quickly becoming one of the best tournament players in the world that you might not have heard of. Some other guys I'd put in that category are Rep Porter, Jesse Martin, Weikai Chang and especially Alex Bolotin and Eric Baldwin.

I did ok in the online tournaments last night. I finished 20th out of 450ish people in FTPs 55000 guaranteed and then I ran fairly deep in the FTOPS Horse, finishing out of the money in 150ish place with only 50 of the 1000+ players getting paid. Basically, I have to final table these online tournaments to be happy with the financial benefit of spending that much time playing. I am not too concerned about the money right now though. I am using these tournaments as a tool to refine my tournament game, and I really think it's working. As the kids say, "Decisions not results."

We ended up going out to Tao as a group last night. We originally entered the club with the rest of the general population, but we are such table whores that we eventually broke down and found a host to get us a table. It is much more expensive but it beats the hell out of maneuvering through the crowd and waiting 10 minutes to get a drink each time. We got to bed around 5 a.m. and woke up scary early at 11 a.m. again. More online tournaments today. FTOPS is a PLHE tonight which should be fun. I think I'll play under BLUFFforRENT again. There is no word yet if my friend and world's best PLHE player Dave Anderson will be in attendance.
