Hey everyone. I just have time for a quick little update. Well May... sucked. It felt like the longest month that I have experienced since I started grinding SNE in January 2010. As I posted in early May, it started off really rough and I was instantly down 25 buy ins at 200nl ($5k). I must have been on full blown tilt because when I moved down to 100NL I lost another 20 buy ins in within two days and pretty much just stayed at that point for the rest of the month. Sadly, it was my first substantial losing month at the tables and it really put a big ugly dent in my yearly graph. Luckily I have a good sense of humor and I can laugh about it. Yay for FPPs. To date I have earned over 40k with the fpp $4k bonus' and other vip rewards that PokerStars offers.
I would say the things that have changed the most since this big downswing began are:
- putting in much more volume
- starting to watch movies and t.v while playing (I seriously didn't do this at all until May)
both of which clearly lead to tons of little mistakes and going on 'autopilot'. My non showdown winnings were the worst they have been all year.
So anyways, I still end up profiting a bit over 3k on the month after rakeback, and I have managed to pull a bit ahead of pace. I currently have 425,000k VPP, and pace is 416,500k.
I'm heading to Vegas on the 20th (I'll post my schedule soon) and although I'm super excited, I am really going to have to put in a lot of hours before I go, and after to make up for lost time. I'm hoping to leave here in June with as close to 500k VPP as I can get. I won't be playing at all after the 17th, so I basically have to average about 16k hands a day until then. That probably won't happen, but I will try my hardest!
