After June being my best month in poker ever, it was sadly followed by some terrible results in July booking my actual worst month ever. For one thing, I had a hard time getting back into online after playing so much live poker, but it's also hard to be as focused in the summer. Living in a city with such a brutal winter, it's hard not to try and take advantage of the beautiful weather while it's here. I know that once winter comes, I pretty much go into hibernation, and there is plenty of time to play poker then. I also tried playing 500 zoom, which seems to be the game where dreams go to die. It's very enticing to play 4 tables of both 2/5 and 1/2 zoom because the hourly VPP is unreal, but very few people can do this profitably. It infuriates me that I can't, but I must accept reality, and I suppose it's something to work towards. Maybe not the 8 tabling part, but beating 500 zoom.
Anyway, since it's already August, it's about time I decide if I'm going for SNE or not. I needed to do some calculations to figure this out, so I thought why not make a blog post about it.
We have 152 days left... which I will adjust to 130 days to account for 22 days off.
VPPs needed for SNE: about 547,000
Which would mean I need about 4,200 VPPs for 130 days. Not unattainable but it will be a challenge for sure.
My other option, is to go for 800k VPP for the year (it's not worth it to go for 900k as far as bonus' go), and that would be about 2,700 VPP over 130 days.
So, for now, I'm going to try and do SNE pace and see how it goes. Follow along with my progress on my blog and my twitter account:
krissyb24pokerI'm thinking of posting daily updates, with my daily VPP goals- and maybe 1 or 2 interesting hands each day. Let me know if that sounds like something any of you would like to see, or if anyone has any other ways to keep it interesting.
August VPP goal: 105,000 (about 3,390 a day)
What do you guys think, should I go for it? Or take it a bit easier and aim for 800k VPP on the year.
