Hey guys, it's been longer than I thought since I updated. Time flies when your having fun! (or just insanely busy).
I've got quite a bit of volume in the past week, which has got me... over half way to SNE!
Monthly pace
I set out to hit 105,000 VPPs. As of the 17th, I have 55,250- which means I've been averaging 3,250 a day. To hit my goal, I would need to average 3,390 a day, so given that I took a few days off to start the month, I'm pretty much right on track.
Poker Progress
As I planned it would be, this month has been focused on getting into the habit of getting in hands, even when not playing optimally. Unfortunately, I've been guilty of a ton of auto piloting, bad game selection, and just playing badly overall. Knowing I'm capable of so much more, it's hard to not to be mad at myself and depressed for past decisions. So, moving forward, I need to keep reminding myself to look for every single little edge I can... table selection and focusing being key steps.
3 things to work on:
1. Not playing too long without breaks:
- going to try 90 min sessions- with a mandatory 10 min break.
2. Game selection
- since it's inevitable that I will be playing in reg infested games- find people I feel more comfortable playing with
3. Addressing tilt earlier
- I can feel it coming...yet somehow it feels like tilt fuels me to keep going. I seriously need to break when I notice myself playing differently. I see myself play a hand bad, and sometimes make excuses for it- but when I notice that, I just need to take a break. I've noticed it pretty hard during a session to accurately rate how I'm playing. I think I'm playing well... then the next day I'm so in the zone I realize how terrible I was playing the day before. Anyway, I think the timed sessions is really going to help with this.
I'm definitely back into the groove of playing online and putting in the time to make SNE, so now I need to do it better!

I don't have a ton of history with this guy, but I had him tagged as a good reg.
Play is standard up until turn... when he check calls me, I'm putting him on hands like 10 10, J J, Qx's, possibly KK, AA.... but I think it's rare he is check calling any 2 pair hands or better. When he checks to me on the river, I wasn't sure if betting was a bit too thin given my image and the action thus far. I think betting is good here because although I do loose to AQ, KK, AA, I'm going to be getting called my Qx's and possibly any one pair hands. Also I don't think I need to be afraid of being bluffed off here...
or do i. I was pretty surprised by his check raise. I was wondering if it was bet sizing that induced it, my sizing screams thin value bet right? I was trying to think about what he was repping and it just didn't make sense to me. I thought for sure he would just fire again with A5ss, two pair hands, sets... and I thought it was more likely he would just bet turn and river with AA, KK, than check call then check raise river with them. When I see his hand, I'm kind of confused by his check call on the turn, and I thought for the times I do call and I'm good, it would just be some sort of 9x or Qx turning hands into bluffs with blockers...
Thoughts about his line? Seems like it would be a good line to take with a set here- especially vs someone who floats + continues river a lot. Do you think my call is bad?
