Debut of the Harmony of the Seas

I am writing this from cabin 11230 on Royal Caribbean’s beautiful Harmony of the Seas. The Harmony is the largest cruise ship in the world, and I am lucky to be on it for nine days. Trying to describe this ship is difficult as there aren’t enough adjectives to convey the grandiosity of the Harmony.

She has 17 decks and has a capacity of 5,479 passengers (double occupancy). It takes approximately 2,500 crew members to spoil the passengers…and I do mean spoil! I get my room made up at least twice a day. Room service is available 24/7 and there are 20 restaurants from which to choose. I even had a cocktail delivered to me while I was in the Jacuzzi today!

The entertainment on this ship is amazing. On the first night, I went to see a production of Grease. I have also seen an aqua show, comedy show, two ice skating shows, and two headliner shows (Ron Lucas and Tony Tillman). The cruise director’s staff will keep you busy with activities like dance parties, trivia, and wine tasting.

I don’t think anyone could get bored on this ship. There are four swimming pools and 10 hot tubs, two Flowrider surf simulators, an ice rink, miniature golf, and two rock climbing walls. There’s even a Central Park with more than 11,000 trees and plants.
For those adrenalin seekers, there are some slides on the Harmony. The “Ultimate Abyss” is a ten-story enclosed dry slide. The “Perfect Storm” is a water slide complex featuring three slides. Speed is not my “thing” so I think I will pass on the slides and just sweat the participants from the side lines!

Card Player Cruises has two trips scheduled on the Harmony of the Seas in 2017. The January 28 cruise features an $1,100 main event and lots of other tournaments. There are more than 350 players already booked and only a few cabins are still available. To celebrate our 25th year in business, our October 14 cruise on the Harmony will feature a $25,000 guaranteed main event with a $340 buy-in. I hope you will come celebrate this milestone with me and see for yourself what the Harmony of the Seas has to offer!
