PokerStars.com is doing it again.

The online giant is holding a second freeroll specifically for those who publish and maintain blogs on the Internet. The first World Blogger Championship of Online Poker (WBCOOP) was held in October and attracted more than 1,400 players.

The next WBCOOP will be held June 18. An email went out this week to all those who previously took part in the event asking players to register.

The prize pool for this freeroll totals $37,000. Everyone who makes the final table (the top nine players) will win an entry to a World Series of Poker event. The winner of the WBCOOP will win a WSOP main event package valued at $12,000.

The rest of the final table will win an entry into a $1,500 WSOP tournament of their choice. Fifteen $1,500 events are scheduled to take place in this year's WSOP.

The final nine players aren't the only ones who will walk away with prizes. Prizes will be given away to the top 54 players. The prize breakdown for finishes is as follows:

  • 51-54 wins a PokerStars letterman's jacket.
  • 41-50 wins a $215 seat in the Sunday $1 million guaranteed tournament.
  • 21-40 wins a 4Gb iPod Nano.
  • 11-20 wins a $370 entry into the July 16, 150 seat guaranteed WSOP qualifier.
  • The person who finishes in tenth wins a heads-up match with Wil Wheaton. If the player wins that match, he receives $1,000. If Wheaton wins, the player receives entry into the $370 WSOP qualifier.

To qualify for the WBCOOP, players must have a blog that has been maintained for at least two months. Registration ends June 15.

The blogs don't even have to be specifically about poker. At the PokerStars registration page, blog categories include "technology," "personal," "politics," "entertainment," "business," and "other."

When bloggers resister for the freeroll, they will be sent a registration code graphic that needs to be placed on the blogger's page. This allows PokerStars.com's staff to verify that the blog is owned and operated by the registrant. PokerStars will manually check each blog to make sure it's a legitimate publication.

If October's event is any indication, these graphics are about to pop up all over the Internet like wildflowers.

The event takes place Sunday, June 18, at 4 p.m. PDT. To register, visit PokerStars.com.
