Quote of the Month: Padraig Parkinson on the European Poker Awards — “John Lennon once described the Eurovision Song Contest as a night out for middle-aged pop fans. If he’d lived and got into poker, I’d love to see what he’d have made of this carry on.”

Story of the Month: The Berlin poker robbery made not just poker media headlines but mainstream press headlines around the world .

Hand of the Month: Anton Peiter Wink’s final hand at the Unibet Open Budapest, “Wink beat Peder Skaj from Sweden heads up when having raised 100,000 on the button and facing a raise of 300,000 he called. The flop came QHeart Suit 9Club Suit 3Heart Suit. Skaj moved all in and Wink called after reflection with the nut-flush drawing AHeart Suit 8Heart Suit against the Swede’s JClub Suit 10Diamond Suit. A 10Club Suit on the turn shot Skaj into the lead but the KHeart Suit on the river saw the Dutchman hit his draw and win the tournament.

Blog of the Month: Roy Brindley predicts Sebastien Vettle will win the Formula 1 world championship and (again correctly) that St. Nicholas Abbey should be opposed antepost at 2/1 for the Epsom Derby.
