The first event of season III of the European Masters of Poker has been won by young, Norwegian Stefan Hansen. Hansen’s victory came after beating 212 opponents for a payday of €34,160 at the Casino Las Palmas in Gran Canaria.

The final hand of the €1,100 buy-in event came when Hansen moved all in with pocket sixes and Israeli Yohas Avidani called with pocket threes. The board was dealt K-9-2-A-K and Hansen was crowned the champion of the third season’s first tour stop.

Hansen had made a deal while fourhanded, which saw him pencilled in for the smallest portion of the prize pool. However, he received the additional €10,000 for taking the event down.

The final-table payouts and results were:

1. Stefan Hansen (Norway) €34,160
2. Yohas Avidani (Israel) €34,580
3. Andrei Demchenko (Russia) €24,940
4. Pim van Wieringen (Holland) €28,130
5. Johan Berg (Sweden) €10,220
6. Stephen Sammon (Ireland) €8,300
7. Öystein Sannes (Norway) €7,240
