The 2011 Oklahoma State Championship of Poker tournament series is now under way at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa in Catoosa, Oklahoma. Action kicked off on Thursday and will continue through February 20 with a total of 22 different events spreading a variety of games, including no-limit and pot-limit hold’em, PLO, Omaha/8 and H.O.R.S.E. Several events will award Card Player Player of the Year points. Buy-ins range from $125-$340.
There are two $340 no-limit hold’em state championship events scheduled, one running Feb. 11-13 and another starting Feb. 18 and wrapping up the series on the 20th. Both will feature guaranteed prize pools of $100,000. There will also be a seniors no-limit hold’em tournament and a ladies no-limit hold’em state championship.
One noticeably absent item on the schedule is the main event. Last year’s tournament series concluded with a $3,000 main event that saw 60 entrants (down from 96 entrants in 2009). Greg Henry won the event for $66,348. This year, no such event is scheduled.
