For the first time ever the World Series of Poker Circuit will set up shop in the Sunshine State, where it will award ten WSOP Circuit rings during its two-week stay at the Palm Beach Kennel Club in West Palm Beach, FL. The tournament series will open on Thursday, February 17, with day 1A of a $345 no-limit hold’em ring event that offers re-entry. The series will wrap up on March 1, with the final table of the $1,600 no-limit hold’em main event.
A variety of events be played over the next two weeks. WSOP Circuit Rings will be awarded to the winners of no-limit hold’em, H.O.R.S.E. and Omaha 8 or Better events. The venue will also host second-chance, deep-stack and satellite tournaments throughout the duration of the series. A $125 ladies event is also on the schedule.
The Palm Beach Kennel Club is the first dog track to ever host the WSOPC. The venue recently expanded its poker room to 64 tables, and it is being predicted that the series turnout could break the Florida record for largest single-venue poker tournament. Notable pros expected to attend include Florida-natives Michael Mizrachi, John Racener and Tony Cousineau. Former world champions Greg Raymer and Jerry Yang are also expected to be in West Palm Beach. This is the 9th stop of the 2010/2011 WSOP Circuit season.
