Borgata's New Cardroom to Open in 10 Days

The new poker room at Borgata Hotel Casino in Atlantic City will open next Friday (June 30).

The 85-table, 21,500-square-foot poker room will feature an 18-table high-limit room offering food service, a nine-table tournament area offering bleacher seating for tournament viewing that can be partitioned off as a "reserved" poker area and a 58-table main poker room outfitted with plasma televisions. A safe deposit box room is provided by Borgata for poker customers.

To celebrate the new room, the Borgata is hosting the Borgata Summer Poker Open Tournament from July 5-20. More information about the tournament can be found here.

The casino is also giving away a bunch of electronics Fourth of July weekend (July 1 through July 4). The giveaway is for all My Borgata cardholders playing during those days. Someone will win every hour from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. The prizes and the days they're being given away are:

• Saturday, July 1, Sony DVD recorder
• Sunday, July 2, Sony Cybershot digital camera
• Monday, July 3, Sony portable DVD player
• Tuesday, July 4, 2 Gb iPod Nano
  

Additionally, all My Borgata cardholders playing with their My Borgata cards July 1 through July 4 have a chance to win a Sony 32-inch flat panel HD television. The winner will be announced July 4 at 8 p.m. Plus, every My Borgata cardholder at the winning table each hour will receive $25 in comp dollars.
