Marvin Rettenmaier Crowned King Of France Poker Series In Paris

Credit: PokerStarsGermany’s Marvin Rettenmaier wrapped up the first season of the PokerStars France Poker Series (FPS) when he took down the grand final and its top prize of €244,036.

The €2,000 buy-in event took place in Paris and 567 players created a prize pool of almost one million euros.

In the end it was Rettenmaier versus Basil Yaïche. They had been playing only 15 minutes heads up when all the chips went in on a KClub Suit 10Club Suit 7Club Suit flop. Rettenmaier held 10Diamond Suit 7Spade Suit for two pair while Yaïche held 9Diamond Suit 8Heart Suit for a straight draw.

The turn was the KSpade Suit and the river was the 4Heart Suit putting Yaïche out in second place with €153,000 for his efforts.

Philippe Narboni took the top spot of the FPS leader board after finishing up in 54th place in the final. He is set to receive the Player of the Year title.
