Euro Poker Tweets Of The WeekElkY and Ludovic Lacay Bring The Heat To WPT Bratislava While Hellmuth Speaks Language Of Love |
|
This week saw Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier updating about what he does best, and that’s stacking those chips up.
This time it was at the World Poker Tour Bratislava.
On Mar. 31, we followed his run which went a bit like this, “56k at first break of WPT bratislava really good start at QQ twice in 4-bet and 5-bet pots and got full value on good boards vs same guy ;)” One hour later, the Team PokerStars pro said, “95k now running pretty sick it’s been a while ;)”
Then, a few hours later, “154k at dinner break sickest rush ever ;)” and finally, at the end of the day, he tweeted, “Finished chip leader 194,675 sick run today ;)”
It will be interesting to see how he finishes up after such a great start, but as we all know, anything can change from moment to moment in poker.
Another player who appeared to be doing well at the WPT was Ludovic Lacay. At first things didn’t look too good as he posted, “ Lost ATss vs KK and AK vs KK.. 55k :(“ However within the hour, things had changed dramatically, “back to 135k. Won K6dd vs KQ on KQ25dd, diamond! Then AQ vs KQ on Q high for 100k”
Rounding off the Euro segment is Dutchman Marcel Luske who always has something insightful to say. Here are some of his finest (and most interesting) tweets of the week. Mar. 28 – “Ignorance does have a price no one can afford , believe me,,,{;” Mar. 30 – “Be the one in the mirror & like what you see,,,, but Dont wait for the world to change..do it yourself or dont…call or pass {;” And on Mar. 31 – “to safe [save] time & agrevation,, try again & take a new road to move on with your live & enjoin the moments of glory, next ..lol”
Across the pond, some of the American stars of poker were lighting up the Twitter wires. On Mar. 31 Chad Brown was celebrating another good result. He tweeted, “finished in 3rd place in the super tuesdays on stars.”
Phil Ivey then wanted to congratulate Brown and said, “great 2 see @downtownchad doing so well, not many tougher than him. Comes back frm serious surgery 2 win Wynn 2k & nice score ystrday online”
Brown acknowledged this by responding, “thx phil. i met your mom today at the sterling club. lovely lady.” Always good to compliment someone’s mom especially with Mother’s Day only around the corner.
Finally, to top the Tweets of The Week off, we’ll finish with some Phil Hellmuth, “Happy Anniversary Honey! March 31, 1990; 21 yrs + I’m still PASSIONATELY IN LOVE…You are beautiful, sexy, strong, supportive + brilliant.”
If that wasn’t too mushy for you, check back next week for more Tweets of The Week, largely European, but with some big U.S. names thrown in for good measure.
