On July 12, the largest buy-in event to ever take place at the World Series of Poker will start when the tournament director tells the dealers to "shuffle up and deal" at the $50,000 buy-in H.O.R.S.E event.
Many professional players are looking forward to this event and many of them believe it should be considered the new championship event of the WSOP because of the big buy-in and the skill it takes to play the five games that make up a H.O.R.S.E. contest.
There will not be many Internet qualifiers playing in it, which will definitely affect the number of players who will register for this event. There won't be many Internet qualifiers playing simply because most sites don't offer satellites to it.
FullTiltPoker.com is one of the only places on the Internet where players can get into the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E event for much less than the full price of admission.
Its $535 qualifying event that will award at least one $52,000 prize package to the H.O.R.S.E event will take place this Saturday (July 1), at 4:30 p.m. EDT. Feeder satellites are now taking place.
Players can get into the $535 direct qualifier (as well as all the WSOP qualifiers at FullTiltPoker.com) for as little a $4.40. As of Wednesday afternoon, 50 players have entered the $535 qualifier.
Direct qualifiers to the $535 tourney start for as little as $26. Players can win their way into the $26 qualifier for $4.40, $6.60 and $8.70. Players can also play in the larger buy-in qualifiers that cost $75, $87, and $171. FullTiltPoker.com offers satellites to the $75 qualifier only and they cost $26, $24, and $12.
FullTiltPoker.com recently released new software that makes is very easy to navigate and understand its feeder tournament structure. To learn more about the new software, click here to read a past article.
In a recent interview with Card Player Magazine, Doyle Brunson predicted that the final table of this event will be made of only known players. He also thinks that the over and under for this event is 100 players, which, if true, will make it the smallest event in terms of playing field of this year's WSOP.
The H.O.R.S.E event is a favorite for the pros because it's a mix of no-limit hold'em, Omaha, razz, seven-card stud, and seven-card stud eights-or-better. To win this tournament, players have to master all these games and professionals believe that it's one of the toughest tests of poker prowess.
