The French government has received a report recommending it changes many of the rules relating to online gaming in the country including reducing tax and sharing liquidity in the poker sector.
In total 15 proposals have been put forward by two MPs, Jean-Francois Lamour and Aurelie Filippetti, who argue that existing legislation is impacting the sector negatively.
A number of companies such as Betfair and Unibet have withdrawn from the French market while others complain of punitive taxes and rake.
However one government source said it was unlikely there would be any significant changes until next year at least.
