Alex Foxen is now a two-time bracelet winner, with his pair of victories coming in quite different events. Both tournaments came in big-bet games, but the two tournaments were on opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to stakes.
After years as one of the best without a bracelet, his first came in the massive $250,000 buy-in no-limit hold’em high roller in 2022. He beat out a field of 56 in that live event to earn a career-best score of more than $4.5 million.
On the other hand, Foxen’s latest win saw him best a field of 466 entries in a WSOP Online $500 buy-in pot-limit Omaha mystery bounty event, earning his second bracelet and $20,064 from the main prize pool. He also secured $19,207 in bounty payouts along the way.
The title comes a few weeks after Foxen narrowly missed out on gold in Rozvadov, Czech Republic, finishing second in the €25,000 buy-in high roller, a tournament where he notably eliminated his wife Kristen Foxen twice.
While there is a huge difference in the buy-ins for the two events, they both awarded the coveted gold jewelry for the win. Foxen’s second brings his household’s total to six. Kristen remains the female bracelet leader with four.
Alex, who is also a World Poker Tour champion, now has more than $34.1 million in recorded tournament earnings. He managed this online win in between recording three final-table finishes at the PokerGO Tour Pot-Limit Omaha Series II festival, which wrapped up earlier this week.
Real-name results for the online tournament, which ran on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024, were recently posted. They show Foxen, playing under the screen name ‘Serapis11,’ defeating fellow high-stakes regular Dan Smith heads-up to secure the title.
Smith fell just short of earning a second bracelet of his own. The Poker Triple Crown winner now has nearly $55.6 million in career cashes after this runner-up showing.
Several other highly accomplished players ran deep, including two-time bracelet winner Chris Moorman (15th), the since suspended Kevin Ruscitti (13th), bracelet winner Cherish Andrews (11th), three-time bracelet winner Jim Collopy (10th), three-time WPT champion Chino Rheem (7th), four-time bracelet winner Ben Yu (6th), and bracelet winner David Goodman (5th).
