Update 11:45: Tom Dwan has been eliminated in fifth place for $134,480

Tom “durrrr” Dwan is looking to cross his name off the best-without-a-bracelet list here at the Rio Hotel and Casino on Thursday evening. The online high-stakes cash game legend has the chip lead with just seven remaining in the $10,000 H.O.R.S.E championship (10:30 p.m PDT).

Dwan, who has seven figures on the line in WSOP bracelet side bets, recorded a devastating runner-up finish in a $1,500 no-limit hold’em event last year. The win would have allegedly netted Dwan about as much as a main-event victory, in addition to the first-place prize.

It is unclear exactly how much a win would net him this time, but it seems likely that Dwan is playing for the biggest payday so far of the 2011 WSOP, thanks to two-year bracelet bets made last summer and various other side action.

Dwan is going to need his run-good on, as the remaining final table of Fabrice Soulier, Shawn Buchanan, and high-stakes mixed game regular Michael Binger will not be easy. Stay tuned to Card Player for level-by-level updates from the final table.
