Hasan Anter won the final $1,500 event of the summer on Friday, after outlasting a huge field of 3,389 to take home $777,928 in prize money. With his first bracelet, Anter becomes the first Scandinavian champion this summer.
Amusingly, the 22-year-old poker pro won the final of the tournament with a royal flush to send Nemer Haddad home with second-place money of $479,521.
The Swede, playing in first World Series, said after the performance: "I didn’t expect to win. I was happy to make the money. My goal was to make the money in the main event. I came [to Las Vegas] for the Main Event. I didn’t even plan to play this, so this is a big surprise.”

James Boyle Eliminated in 9th Place ($59,705)
James Boyle started the official nine-handed final table on the short stack was the the first one eliminated just moments after it began.
James Boyle moved all in from the button for about 650,000 and current chipleader Andy Philachack called.
Philachack was ahead before the flop with 6 6 against Boyle’s A K.
The board came Q 10 7 Q 4, no help for James Boyle who was the first one eliminated in 9th place ($59,705). Andy Philachack moved up to 5.3 million in chips that hand.
Ryan Goindoo Eliminated in 8th Place ($77,914)
John Horvatich opened the pot for 150,000 before the flop, Ryan Goindoo moved all in from the big blind and Horvatich called.
Goindoo lead with 4 4 against Horvatich’s A Q.
The board came 7 7 6 6 3, counterfeiting Goindoo’s pair on the turn. Horvatich won the pot with two pair (sevens and sixes) and an ace high while Ryan Goindoo was eliminated in 8th place ($77,914).
Rayan Nathan Eliminated in 7th Place ($102,803)
Rayan Nathan open-shoved the short stack from under the gun and Hasan Anter called from the button.
Anter lead with K K against Nathan’s A 6.
The board came 8 6 4 5 4, not enough help for Rayan Nathan who was eliminated in 7th place ($102,803).
John Horvatich Eliminated in 6th Place ($137,025)
Hasan Anter opened the pot for 255,000 from under the gun, John Horvatich moved all in for 1,465,000 and Anter called.
Horvatich lead with K K against Anter’s 8 8.
The board came J 8 3 4 3, giving Anter a full house to win the pot. John Horvatich was eliminated in 6th place ($137,025).
John Borzio Eliminated in 5th Place $184,561)
John Borzio opened the pot for 160,00 before the flop, Andy Philachack called from the small blind and Hasan Anter called from the big blind.
The flop came 9 3 2, Philachack and Anter checked, Borzio moved all in for 1,080,000 and both Philachack and Anter called.
The turn was the 8, Philachack checked, Anter moved all in and Philachack folded the best hand with 4 3 for a baby flush.
Anter turned over J 9 for the lead against Borzio’s A K.
The river was the 5 and Anter won the pot with a pair of nines. John Borzio was eliminated in 5th place ($184,561).
Selim Oulmekki Eliminated in 4th Place ($251,267)
Selim Oulmekki button-raised to 175,000 before the flop and Hasan Anter called from the big blind.
The flop came Q 8 6, and both players checked.
The turn was the 9, Anter bet 300,000, Oulmekki moved all in and Anter called.
Anter turned over Q J for top pair while Oulmekki showed J 8 for middle pair and an inside straight draw.
The river was the Q, no help to Selim Oulmekki who was eliminated in 4th place ($251,267).
Andy Philachack Eliminated in 3rd Place ($345,698)
Andy Philachack started the unscheduled fourth day of this event as the short stack and was eliminated shortly after play began.
Nemer Haddad limped in from the button before the flop, Andy Philachack moved all in from the small blind and Haddad called.
Philachack had 3 3 against Haddad’s A 10.
The board came 10 7 6 K K, giving Haddad top pair on the flop to win the pot. Andy Philachack was the first one eliminated this afternoon in 3rd place ($345,698), while Hasan Anter took the chip lead going into heads-up play.
Nemer Haddad Eliminated in 2nd Place ($479,521)
Hasan Anter continued to extend his lead, eventually whittling his opponent down to a little over 3 million before Nemer Haddad got it all in before the flop in this last hand of the event.
Hasan Anter button-raised to 500,000 before the flop, Nemer Haddad moved all in for about 3,200,000 from the big blind and Anter called.
Anter led with A 4 against Haddad’s A 2.
The board came K Q 10 4 J, giving Hasan Anter a four-card royal flush on the river to win the pot.
Nemer Haddad was eliminated in 2nd place ($479,521) while Hasan Anter wins gold bracelet in Event #56 and the $777,928 grand prize.
