AbsolutePoker.com today announced it released a new Web site (pokerinternships.com) that recounts the behind-the-scenes stories and photo diaries of the company's seven interns, who are now in their second month on the job at the company's Costa Rica headquarters.
Also announced today is the expansion of Absolute Poker's internship program, making it quarterly and a new freeroll competition called "Bust the Interns," in which players are invited to go head-to-head against the interns.
"The first couple of weeks have been a bit of a surprise for all of us," said Benjamin James, internship director at Absolute Poker. "The interns weren't expecting to be living in a mansion and going to the beach every weekend, and I wasn't really expecting such an able workforce. Two of the interns even made the new pokerinternships.com site."
As part of the Absolute Poker Internship program, ambitious college-aged students are given the chance to work in an exciting new industry with very real jobs - all while living in paradise. Absolute Poker is excited to offer full time employment to the best of the current intern group.
"I came down here knowing this would be sweet, but I honestly had no idea," said Jason Wofsey, one of the seven 2006 summer interns. "We play poker all the time, but the coolest part is coming up with new ideas for the company and then getting to implement them. Going to the beach and jungles every weekend is pretty unreal too. I graduate from college next year, and I want to work here."
The internship program has already proven to be so successful that Absolute Poker is offering additional internships, making the program quarterly. Visit the site for more information.
