Dylan Weisman came into the final table of the 2024 PGT PLO Series II $5,100 progressive bounty event with the chip lead and proceeded to knock out each and every one of the five opponents that joined him in making day 2.

As a result, the two-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner ran away with the title and the top prize of $88,245, securing $107,000 in bounty payouts as he went. That brings his overall haul for the tournament to $195,245.

This was the fourth PokerGO Tour triumph on Weisman’s resume this season, and second win in his preferred discipline of pot-limit Omaha. Weisman now has more than $6.1 million in recorded tournament earnings after this latest victory.

Weisman has made 13 final tables this year, winning five titles along the way. This latest showing came with 576 Card Player Player of the Year points, increasing his total to 5,558. As a result, he has climbed to eighth place in the 2024 POY standings presented by Global Poker.

This was also Weisman’s 15th recorded cash in a PGT-qualified event, bringing his points total in that high-stakes-centric race to 1,559. He now sits in tenth place on the PGT leaderboard, and is just 823 points away from the top spot.

This event drew 159 total entries, building a prize pool of $795,000. The top 23 finishers made the money, with notables like bracelet winner Eelis Parssinen (20th), Christian Harder (19th), three-time bracelet winner Anson Tsang (18th), 2024 WSOP main event runner-up Jordan Griff (15th), six-time bracelet winner Jeremy Ausmus (14th), two-time bracelet winner Bryce Yockey (11th), bracelet winner Ken Aldridge (10th), World Poker Tour champion Matthew Wantman (9th), and recent Poker Masters series champion Jim Collopy (8th) all running deep.

Daniel NegreanuThe final day began with Weisman sitting on roughly 40 percent of the total chips in play. He scored his first elimination when his flopped set of fives held against the turned two pair of seven-time bracelet winner Daniel Negreanu. The river kept Weisman’s set best to eliminate Negreanu in sixth place ($23,850). The Poker Hall of Famer now has nearly $53.1 million in career tournament earnings across nearly 500 recorded in-the-money finishes. Negreanu also climbed to 29th in the POY rankings and fifth in the season-long PGT standings thanks to this latest final-table finish.

Two-time bracelet winner John Riordan was the next to fall at Weisman’s hands. He got all-in with A-K-J-7 double suited against the A-Q-5-3 with ace-high hearts of Weisman and flopped top pair. Weisman picked up a wrap draw on the flop and turned a straight to secure the hand. Riordan earned $28,620 as the fifth-place finisher.

Bruno Furth was eliminated in fourth place via a three-way all-in against Weisman and Sean Winter. Winter won the main pot with a flush, but Weisman’s set of kings earned him the side pot and the knockout. Furth walked away with $35,775 for his efforts.

After tripling up in that hand, Winter came all the way back to move into second place for a time. In his final hand he committed the majority of his stack preflop with AHeart SuitADiamond SuitQHeart Suit4Spade Suit. Weisman came along with 10Club Suit7Club Suit4Club Suit3Heart Suit and flopped a pair of tens, which was enough to entice him to call off Winter’s remaining couple of blinds. Weisman turned tens and threes to take the lead. Winter bricked out on the end and was sent packing in third place ($47,700).

Heads-up play began with Weisman holding 16,200,000 to Richard Gryko’s 3,675,000. He remained well out in front when the final hand of the tournament was dealt. Gryko raised to 750,000 from the button with AHeart SuitQSpade SuitQHeart Suit4Diamond Suit. Weisman defended his big blind with JHeart Suit8Heart Suit8Diamond Suit5Diamond Suit and the flop came down 8Club Suit4Spade Suit2Club Suit to give Weisman top set. He checked and Gryko bet pot. Weisman moved all-in and Gryko called. The turn brought the 7Heart Suit, leaving Gryko in need of a queen on the end. It was the ADiamond Suit instead, ending Gryko’s run in second place ($88,245). The recent Super High Roller Bowl Series Cyprus $25,750 PLO event winner now has almost $2.3 million in recorded scores.
