The Majestic Barriere in Cannes will host WSOP Europe this FallWith the World Series of Poker now in the books until November, attention now turns to the rest of the major tours to provide tournament poker action for players and fans through the rest of 2011, with the exception of the November Nine. The WSOP main event final table will bring the focus back to the Rio from November 5-7, but other than that the eyes of the poker world will be spread across five continents in the fall of 2011.

A Busy Schedule in Europe

The WSOP Europe series of events will run from October 7-19 in glamorous Cannes on the French Riviera. The shift of WSOP Europe from London to Southern France has already brought about changes to a few other tours. The European Poker Tour’s fall festival of poker will still take place in London from September 30-October 6, but the EPT San Remo main event has moved from the Spring to the Fall in order to capitalize on poker professionals heading across the Atlantic to play in the seven gold bracelet events at WSOP Europe. The EPT San Remo main event will run from October 21-27 on the shore of the Italian Riviera.

Other major European tournaments will take place in Tallinn, Estonia (EPT main event from August 2-7), Barcelona (EPT main event from August 27-September 1), Paris (WPT Grand Prix from September 5-10), and Amnenville, France (WPT main event from November 1-6). European action in late 2011 wraps up in Prague, with a EPT main event and WPT main event running during the first two weeks of December.

The Bicycle Casino will host the WPT Legends of Poker for the 10th Year in AugustBack in the U.S.A.

The U.S. schedule features a lot of mainstays returning from the World Poker Tour in the Legends of Poker at the Bicycle Casino, the Borgata Poker Open, the Foxwoods Poker Classic, and the Five-Diamond World Poker Classic at Bellagio. The WPT will have a new U.S. stop in Jacksonville, Florida in November. In addition to their mainland Europe dates the other international stops take the WPT to Marrakech for a main event in Northern Africa and the small Mediterranean island of Malta for a main event.

The WSOP Circuit tour will feature a half dozen tournament series this Fall that will each feature a dozen gold-ring events and one $1,500 main event per tour stop. The new addition for the WSOP Circuit will be the kickoff stop in Bossier City, Louisiana.

Speaking of new additions to the poker lineup in the U.S., the Epic Poker League will host their first three tour dates before the end of the year at the Palms Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Each of these stops will feature a pro-am event, a main event, and a charity tournament. The three EPL dates will take place in August, September, and December.

The Crown Casino will Host an ANZPT event this FallSouth of the Equator

Tournaments taking place south of the equator include the Latin American Poker Tour main event in Punta del Este, Uruguay in South America and the Australia New Zealand Poker Tour tour will feature main events in Queenstown, New Zealand and Melbourne and Darwin in Australia. The two major tournaments taking place in Asia before the end of the year are the Asia Pacific Poker Tour main event in Macau, China, and the Asian Poker Tour main event in Manila in the Philippines.

The last few months of the year feature a busy slate all over the world and you will be able to get tournament updates, and recaps from these stops on Card Player throughout the fall and into the New Year as we track which players cash major scores at these tournaments and become contenders in the Card Player Player of the Year race. It will also be interesting to see how tournament participation numbers are affected by Black Friday moving forward, not only in terms of the number of players who participate at each event, but also for the makeup of nationalities of those participants.
