Ilari “Ilari FIN” Sahamies turned in yet another immensely profitable week, winning more than $800,000 over the past seven days and scooping the largest pot ever tracked on PokerStars.
At a massive $200-$400 deep-stacked pot-limit Omaha table, the record-setting confrontation started when the Finnish pro raised to $1,400, Andreas “Skjervøy” Torbergsen called, and unknown bernard-bb called as well. The flop fell K 3 2 , and bernard-bb checked. Sahamies bet $4,595, Torbergsen raised to $18,380, bernard-bb called $18,380, and Sahamies called the additional $13,785. The 9 on the turn prompted another check from bernard-bb. Sahamies checked, and Torbergsen shoved for $10,428. Bernard-bb check-raised to $91,000. Sahamies called.
A river 3 came before an $85,000 all-in bet into Sahamies. He called with the A K 6 4 for the nut flush, raking in the $421,826 monster. Bernard-bb mucked A-A-7-2, while Torbergsen’s cards were unknown. According to Card Player’s Omaha Odds Calculator, Sahamies hits his needed outs only about 37 percent of the time.
After winning other six-figure pots, Sahamies ended the week as the biggest overall winner. He now is on a $1.5 million upswing since July, just recently erasing his 2011 aggregate losses across all sites.
Joining Sahamies at the $200-$400 pot-limit tables recently have been the likes of Rafi “refaelamit” Amit and Phil “MrSweets28” Galfond. Galfond was up big at one point over the past week, but saw his profits evaporate over the past few days.
