Meet The November Nine -- Ben LambPlayer of the Year Contender Enters In Fifth Chip Position |
|
Tulsa, Oklahoma’s Ben Lamb put forth one of the best performances in World Series of Poker history at the 2011 WSOP and as a result, currently resides in first place in the WSOP Player of the Year race. He not only picked up his first bracelet in the $10,000 pot-limit Omaha championship, but also finished second, eighth and 12th in his other four cashes which included a final table appearance in the $50,000 Players Championship. After all of that, it only seemed fitting that he would make the November Nine.
Lamb, who plays in high stakes cash games in addition to tournaments, will be entering the final table with 20,875,000 in chips, putting him in fifth place. Lamb is currently in ninth place in the 2011 Card Player Player of the Year race, but is only 698 points behind current leader Sam Stein. With 900 points awarded for a seventh place finish in November, Lamb has a great shot at taking the outright lead in the 2011 POY race. If Lamb were to earn the 3,600 POY points going to the eventual champion, he would take a commanding lead.
Card Player TV caught up with Lamb to learn more about him, his success this summer and his run to the final table.
