South Point Announces Free Online Poker

Owner Michael Gaughan Hopes To Offer Real Money Site After Online Poker Legislation

The South Point Hotel, Casino and Spa has announced that it is launching a free online poker site that will be tied to The Club, the casino’s player loyalty reward system.

Owner Michael Gaughan has said that the move is intended to position the company for real money play should online poker become licensed and regulated in the United States. Gaughan hopes that his forward thinking will put him ahead of other casino operators who have also started looking into online poker since Black Friday.

For now, players can download the software from SouthPointPoker.com and start playing for free immediately. To promote their new product, the Casino has announced that they will be giving away weekly seats to the 2012 WSOP Main Event, as well as up to $100,000 each month in cash and prizes.
