In the absence of online poker in the U.S. the demand for live tournaments has increased and a new poker tour was launched today to help satisfy that demand – the Native American Casino Poker Tour.

Card Player has partnered with Native American casinos across the country to offer a wide variety of games with buy ins to suit all pockets – with the main event final table streamed live at CardPlayer.com.

The first stop on the tour is at Choctaw Casino Resort, Durant, Oklahoma from December 1 to 11, 2011 with the $930 + $70 main event starting on December 10.

The winner of the first main event will also feature on cover of Card Player magazine and receive a $1,600 seat into the January 2012 World Series of Poker Circuit event at Choctaw.

Jeff Shulman, president of Card Player, said, “Our vision is to combine the efforts of Native American poker rooms with Card Player’s massive poker audience, for a nationwide tour. With the help of Card Player’s poker and media expertise, the Native American Casino Poker Tour will foster closer relationships between the casinos and their players.”

NACPT Choctaw features 20 events ranging from $100 + $25 to $270 + $30 across no-limit hold’em, limit Omaha eight-or-better, and pot-limit Omaha. The Casino will also host satellite tournaments for the main event.

The event is open to anyone over 18-years-old and other stops on the tour will be announced soon.
