Electrical Tape a Necessity at WSOP

Tape Used to Cover Offending Dot Coms

Black electrical tape has become a necessary accessory on the first day of the World Series of Poker's main event as several online sites made the mistake of including the word ".com" on the shirts that they gave to their online qualifiers to wear.

"It's always been the case that (the words) 'dot com' were not allowed in the room," said Nolan Dalla, WSOP's media director.

The policy is written Harrah's terms and conditions to play in the WSOP.

Therefore, players had to take strips of black tape and cover the offending words, so just about each table had at least one player with a shirt or hat with black squares on them. Most online poker sites have sites with both ".com" and ".net." The sites with ".net" extensions are play money sites, while the ones with ".com" are the places players can play with dollars.
