Europe Takes On America For Champion Poker Title

Caesars Cup Teams Change For Big Battle Which Ends Today

It has been two years since Europe crushed America at the Caesar Cup. They face each other again for the final stand today to see who can take the 2011 title.

There have been a few changes to the teams originally announced. Bertrand Grospellier and Phil Hellmuth remain as the team captains but the line-up is slightly different. Hellmuth’s Team Americas consists of Ben Lamb, Jason Mercier, Johnny Chan, and Daniel Negreanu, while ElkY’s Team Europe is made up of Jake Cody, Max Lykov, Gus Hansen, and Antanas Guoga.

Last time, the younger, lesser-known Euro team, captained by Annette Obrestad took on and beat a highly experienced American team loaded down with WSOP bracelets, captained by Daniel Negreanu. The new mix of ages on each team no longer makes it youth versus experience so today’s battle should prove to be very intense and exciting.
