Betfred Fraudster Remanded In CustodyThree Charged With Electronic Banking Fraud In Two Seperate Cases |

A British man, William Wallace, has been remanded in custody after being accused of stealing a £23,856 credit balance owed by a bank to his employer, gaming company, Betfred.com. Wallace appeared before the Magistrates Court on Tuesday, Nov. 8 alongside two other men who were involved in an unrelated case which also concerned alleged electronic banking fraud.
The Brit, who works in Gibraltar and lives in Spain, is said to have committed the crime on different dates between May 19, 2010 and Nov. 1, 2011. The case has been adjourned until a later date.
The other two men, Edward Alvez and Stephen Joseph Rodriguez, were granted bail of £10,000 after they were accused of conspiring to defraud UK bookmaker, Stan James. Alvez allegedly stole a credit balance of £52,970.73 owed by a bank to Stan James, his employer; and also conspired with Rodriguez to defraud the company of a £24,332.34 credit balance owed to it by the bank.
Rodriguez was further charged with having the exact sum of £24,332.34 in his bank account and knowing it was the proceeds of criminal conduct. This case was also adjourned until early next year.
